It became a recurring joke for us to label any VIP car's tag a Ferrari. For example, pic related would be a "Ferrari R8" then we had classics like the "Ferrari Panamera", or the "Ferrari LFA". I could write a book on the stupidity I have seen with people and cars.

Depends on the girl. I've actually gotten more complements on my Range Rover Sport from women than my 911 S. Then again 911s aren't exactly exotic looking. When I had a Cayenne GTS a bit back that was a hit with dudes but women never said anything. Range Rover they all love it. It's kind of a chicks car though. I should probably get a Starbucks habit

Oh, and when Lambos are parked next to Ferraris, the chicks always go for the Ferraris in my experience. I went on a trip through the Keys with my friends and their cars (I just rode along), one black 458, one dark blue 458, one Lambo LP750 in silver. They went to the dark blue 458 /every time/. The black one looked like nothing, and maybe the Lambo would have gotten more attention if it had a more dramatic color, but dark blue isn't exactly bright either. The dark blue Ferraris just look really pretty, so I think they saw all those in a line and picked the prettiest one.

Ferraris appeal to women more because they're designed with a feminine shape to them. They have swooping, curving lines that both men and women enjoy.

Lamborghinis are hard-edged and more masculine. They have the appeal of a Hot Wheels car, which men generally like.

I also agree that women do tend to have a rough idea of car brands. There is a lot of branding behind car brands, and so women get exposed to it a lot. It's sort of like guys generally know Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent even if they don't know Bottega Venetta or the more esoteric luxury fashion brands. We've just been hyper exposed to it.

They just might not be able to tell a 458 from a 430 or a 911 Turbo from a GT3 or something, sort of like I know what Prada handbags look like but don't know the version.
