My dad used to take me to classic aircooled VW shows all the time. My Dad wasnt a VW fan, but I was a big Herbie fan and there's almost always at least one Herbie replica at those shows. My dad encouraged my love of cars, even learning about cars he didn't like to make me happy. He's now able to tell which year a 60's bug is by little details like the size of the windows or the color of the turn signals.

Really wasn't a car guy growing up, but pic related really piqued my interest in automobiles. Probably wouldn't be here if not for the Cobra. Not a huge Mustang fanboy still, but I look back on it fondly.

Damn straight, I went to Monster rally every year for my birthday, my Godfather worked for an oil company that owned a box in the stadium (we got couches and real food instead of bleacher seats and Cotton Candy) it was based.

I had a huge wicker basket of Hot Wheels, probably 300 cars. But I also kept a little box of my favorite hot wheels, about 20 cars, most classic. Pic related was my favorite, a 1958 Vette. I had a carpet/mat that had roads on it, each lane was hot wheels sized. I would race my favorite cars on the mat and line the other cars up around the mat (they were the spectators) and the Corvette would win every time. Sometimes when I wanted to shake it up I would have my brother pick a car and race me but the Corvette still always won because I liked it the most.

I still really like Vettes, but I could never afford one from '58 that I could drive, so I'm thinking about buying a C5. Im just really unsure how bad it would be mechanically, after all it is a sports car, what do you think? If I bought one with like 70k miles and in good condition to drive on the weekends, how much would it cost me a year to own a C5?
