Only one guy tried it and I don't think he finished. The VH is just so wide, it doesn't fit in anything that well except for a Z32. Probably a Z31 too because the engine bay is even wider than the Z32 but I have one guy do it and it was just a short youtube video.

VH fits fine in S13-S15, R31-R34s, Laurels, Cedrics ect with a bit of room to spare.. There are shit loads of VH powered S13s

It's really not cheaper though, the cost of building the 1.5, especially when you factor in all of the wiring required would cost a lot more than a $1500 aristo motor that you can run on the stock harness.

That's just a rumor perpetuated by 13 year olds on supraforums. The stock 2JZ head flows at least 30cfm more at peak lift than the stock 1JZ head. Even a P&P 1JZ head doesn't match a 2JZ for flow.

I blew up my 1jz bottom end twice last year so it was much cheaper for me to buy a 2jz bottom end and gain most of the advantages from 2jz over 1jz without having to sell all my 1jz specific parts. Also,1jz head does not flow better that's a myth. With a good set of cams, a 1jz vvti head will flow plenty enough to break 500whp which is all I really want. If I was building something more than that I would've swapped to a full 2jz.

Yeah it was only cheaper because I had my setup done for a 1jz already. Plus where I live, a vvti 2jz will run $3000+. I got my bottom end off of a buddy for $400 and then slapped some new rings in it.
