I really like Volvo's new design language. Their ambitions are really modest with it though, I read somewhere that here in the UK they are only hoping to tempt 500 customers away from each of their rivals e.g new 5-series, new E-class, XF, for a couple thousand sales a year.

I was skeptic about chinks buying the brand but seems like their hands-off approach and cash injection has enabled Volvo to get back on its feet.

Have you driven a XC90? Seen an XC90? Because im guessing you havn't. They made good cars before, even when being slaves under the soles of fucking ford, but they are much better now.

A baseline audi q7 costs as much as an xc90 inscription. And audi extras are not cheap, in case you've never bought an audi.

A few different articles I've read have said that the tip of the line model will be offered with Volvo's T8 engine. Twin charged 4 cylinder hybrid electric with 400 horsepower and 472 left of torque.

Side note, I hate how Volvo has gone the way of BMW and moved away from their original nomenclature for their different engine levels. First time I saw "T8" I thought they were talking about a turbocharged V8 engine, although twin charged hybrid electric is pretty cool too.

Apparently the head of Volvo U.S. has confirmed that they will make a V90 and that it will be sold stateside, but that's coming from "Digital Trends" magazine so take that as you will.

I'm assuming it will be based off their "Estate" shooting brake concept. If they actually made a 2 door (3 door?) shooting brake variant I'd wet myself.

As mentioned elsewhere: front end of EU-spec Mazda 6 and upside down Datsun Violet tail lights. Oh, and Lexus GS S190 side profile. And generic shitbox C-pillar. Maybe it will grow on people during the pass of time and in 10 years be accepted as a look of a Volvo. Although in 10 years there will be no pre-facelift S90s left as they will surely be designed as disposable appliances with stupidly expensive batteries and VEA-series engines. Sorry, I am being a bit edgy here, but it is hard to see anything positive in this. The interior must be comfy as fuck.
