I drove a focus and fiesta ST for the first time outside of the dealership parking lot today (moved cars to lot 2 miles down road on dealer plates) and they were both crazy quick. Dry with sport mode on I spun through first if I didn't slowly ease on throttle

I've never driven one, but I sat in one at a car show last weekend. The base seats are terrible so you'd have to get the $2k Recaro package IMO, which starts putting it pretty close to Focus ST/Mustang/BRZ/FRS/GTI/Miata money for something that is basically a $13k shitbox with a turbo.

I paid $23.5k OTD for a fully loaded '15 TB just over a year ago, so definitely in the same ball park.

Currently tuned I'm making ~280 wheel/torque and ~240 wheel/horsepower with an intercooler, catback exhaust, and a cold-air intake. Pretty awesome!

Some folks are going big turbo and are safely running 390whp/390wtq on the stock engine.

Well for what it's worth I have a Focus ST with the ST3 package. It's an awesome car, love everything about it. Seriously doubt you'd be disappointed with the Fiesta.

If I were considering the mk7 GTI I'd probably splurge on the Golf R.
