Welp, time to take it to a technician and re-wire the connector shorter to the cable. I don't know why, the brake doesnt have any problems. I twas maybe because I put a load cell in it.

>This week we are trialling an optional Timed Training session. Do your training laps in it and I think we will get a leaderboard of lap times. Try it out and let me know what you think.
I ran some laps, then let it sit there the rest of the time because I wasn't sure if it would save my time if I exited. 30m is quite a bit of practice in one session, or at least it feels like that for me because I usually don't get any faster after 5-10 laps.

>>13961035
They're generally terrible competitive platforms not leastly because every PC sim flips the physics on their head every 3 months.
Also literally nobody gives a shit about watching video game car racing. It combines all the boredom of real racing with no risk, tradition, or spectacle. Plus "I could beat them if I just had a setup and a $5000 rig"
Just setup an AC drifto server to try out this Ebisu and to see if the lag magically being fixed is true

Yeah they wanted me to send them the G27 first. Not gonna happen with 3 races left in GT3.
Good to know the shifter works with the new ones.
>>13961587
I believe he is talking about street curbs.
Rf2 allows you to roll over them
AC will cause you to hit and bounce as you would in real life.
>>13961625
The coolest thing I've ever experienced in a game is still Grid 1's le-mans series at the end of the season.
being able to race in day to night cycle is one of the coolest fucking things ever, and if I could get a game that has the night lighting that Dirt Rally has I would be in heaven.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbgf8XKHRsU
>>13961587
Are you clinically retarded?
Visually, the kerbs in AC and RF2 are identical. However, in RF2 the drop between the kerb and the grass is removed and replaced with a smooth transitory surface, and the whole kerb is smoothened to be less impactful in general.
I also didn't make that diagram, I thought it was pretty easy to understand but apparently not everyone has the same mental capacity
>>13961641

>>13961142
/wgg/ is the planefag general.
>>13961687
I disagree. /ovg/ series are nothing but spectacle.
"tradition" is a buzzword.
There's no tradition in F1 other than it happens every year.
I guess you could say that the act of auto racing itself is a tradition, that racing sims carry on and bring to all people regardless of social standing or income.
Yeah there's no risk, but nobody likes seeing death on the track.
In a sim you get hit by flying cars and parts and it's funny and entertaining.
IRL you get hit in the helmet by a loose nosecone and fucking die.
No risk means drivers race harder and closer.
No risk means that a driver who rolls his car into the woods and blows up at the Nurburgring doesn't have to live the rest of his life with a disfigured face.
No risk means heroes never die.
No risk does not mean no fear.
>>13961783
I play with a wheel, but I have videos and stuff of me playing with controllers too.

>>13961775
Where's the proof from the game engine? That's all in how the track is modeled.
So many sim racing "truths" are based on absolute bullshit hearsay some retards spout on forums.
>>13961687
televised motorsport is boring because of limited coverage. You miss so much, and you miss even more if you're actually at the event and confined to the grandstands. In a sim you can do impossible shots and very rapid coverage of the entire field with a theoretically infinite number of movable cameras.
Properly televised simracing would also be interactive, with the audience being able to choose their own cameras and cars to follow while listening to rolling commentary.

Watching cheap physics engines flip out is not quite the same as hearing and feeling a race car pass by at 200mph.
>"tradition" is a buzzword.
No, tradition is accumulated momentum. Nobody grew up watching rFactor with their dad.
>No risk means heroes never die.
No risk means you're not a fucking hero.
>No risk means drivers race harder and closer.
No it means baddies driving harder and closer and endlessly crashing, the best real life drivers already race as hard and close as possible.

>>13961912
Risto isn't your hero?
>>13961687
That $5000 would be much better spent on a street stock or chump car.
>>13961968
Risto races IRL too. Go karts, but ones that are like a 991 turbo permanently stuck in 2nd gear and with twice the grip.
Nazareth is on the wiki if anyone wants to try it out. Its by Virtua_LM and it is really good. The version on the wiki has the updated realroad shader that all recent ISI tracks use. It needs more work to make full use of it, aestethics-wise, but it is race-ready
>>13961912
>Watching cheap physics engines flip out is not quite the same as hearing and feeling a race car pass by at 200mph.
Watching a race is not the same as driving in it, simulator or IRL. The human understanding and replication of automotive physics gets better and better as time goes on.
>Nobody grew up watching rFactor with their dad.
Speak for yourself. I grew up watching my dad stomp shitters online in Nascar Racing 1.
>No risk means you're not a fucking hero.
There is risk of failure, just not risk of death. A hero does not just "survive the race". To me, a racing hero is one who consistently exceeds the expectations of a driver, either by skill or personality. People like Risto, Larguu, and Aspirations are incredibly skilled racers, but they're also top-notch human beings.
>No it means baddies driving harder and closer and endlessly crashing, the best real life drivers already race as hard and close as possible.
That's why we do this. To get on that level. To get gud.
>>13961433
>>13961718
>>13961775
That's because Assetto Corsa *only* lets drives on raw polygons (which is always wrong and you can forget about proper ovals), while also having physics instability issues making the car explode on kerbs.
In rFactor 2 you can control the track and kerb smoothing with HATFilterMaxOffset, another essential feature missing from Assetto Corsa.
>>13962048
Wasn't that bumpy as shit?
>>13962074
That was probably me being an idiot trying to "upgrade" the track. In any case, the track on the wiki drives great
>>13962064
>polygons
it's almost like real life is made out of shapes and bumps, and not magical force fields like RF2
>>13962090
SJ go back to your general
>>13962064
iirc AC has a physics mesh that the cars actually drive on and a track mesh that you see.
If you try the ksRing in RF2, you're driving on the visual because it wasn't converted properly, and thus it's more polygon-y and less smooth than in AC.
>>13962064
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Refrain from posting.
>>13962051
>I grew up watching my dad stomp shitters online in Nascar Racing 1.

>no one gives a shit about watching video game car racing
ok explain to me why youtubers like theslaptrain1,black panthaa, expty box, inside sim racing, digiprost and tons of others can get thousands of views? clearly no one cares
>it combines the boredom of real racing
someone clearly hasn't fucking tried racing IRL
>no risk
trust me, i do both racing in real life and pretend race cars and i find them both just as exciting. I get just as nervous when i start the race in real life as when i start the races every Saturday
>or spectacle
battles between drivers can be just as good in real life than in pretend race cars, if not more
>Plus "I could beat them if i just had a setup and a $5000 rig"
you get that in real racing too, the usual "i could beat him if i had a setup and a £3000 chassis"
>>13962117
Watching races IRL is kinda boring though.
I went and saw a NASCAR race and I was entertained and would go back, but after an hour or two you can't help but remember you're just watching cars go in circles while wearing earplugs so you can't talk to your friends.
>>13962090
No real life kerb, track surface or anything is made of infinitely sharp edges.
This is simulation development 101. This is also why Assetto Corsa's physics can't be taken seriously.
>>13962117
There are more people watching Black Ops III on Twitch right now than will ever watch Empty Box's videos. Which is irrelevant because while LPers might get thousands of views for muh e-celeb bullshit, actual leagues get dozens.
>someone clearly hasn't fucking tried racing IRL
How does this relate to watching it exactly
>you get that in real racing too, the usual "i could beat him if i had a setup and a £3000 chassis"
Yeah and nobody watches club racing either.
>>13962051
>Risto, Larguu, and Aspirations
If I was Larguu or Aspirations I'd be pretty pleased at being mentioned in the same breath as The Risto himself
>>13962138
>real life isn't made of infinitely sharp edges
No, but you are also an idiot. And have no idea what you are talking about.
>>13962105
And even a high poly physical track mesh alone isn't high enough for accurate physics, without some smoothing.
Btw rF1 and rF2 can do the separate physics mesh thing too.

>>13962064

>>13962105
I think the fact that people playing the RF2 conversion of the Kunos burgerking were gloating about how glorious it was, not even realizing they were driving on low-poly visual mesh, tells me all I need to know about RF2's driving physics
>>13962135
>NASCAR
there's your problem
>>13962143
because games such as black ops have more sales anyway, not everyone is interested in hardcore sims but when you have millions of 12 year olds on a game, of course streams are gonna get more views, like the football v motorsport argument.
>how does this relate to watching it exactly
you appreaciate what's going on better when you've experienced it yourself, just like watching divegrass, you appreciate the skill when someone takes a shot because you've tried it yourself.
>Yeah and nobody watches club racing either.
because they're not televised?
>>13962193

>>13962114
>Can you figure out the difference between watching your dad do something and watch something?
There isn't a difference. Both are fun. I take it none of your parental figures have been into simracing, so what do you know?
Simracing has only existed in its current form for roughly 20 years, after the Internet actually made global network racing possible.
Auto racing itself has been around for over a hundred years, longer than any of us have lived.
To say there is no tradition in simracing is ridiculous. We are making tradition right here.
>>13962261
Ignoring the fact that he's a hypocrite, James makes a good point on PRC that sim racers would rather spend time arguing about why their favorite game is better than someone else's favorite game instead of just playing the damn games. In fact he's written like 5 articles on it because he's run out of new shit to write.
>>13962051
>Larguu
>top-notch human being
You almost had me there, rusemaster
>>13962117
They get views because they pander to the lowest common denominator. All those people are just PewDiePie for a slightly more autistic and less normie audience. Anyone claiming esports is a real sport is still a complete faggot.
>>13962209
It's almost always memekids and people blowing off steam posting that shit, easy to ignore. Not so easy avoiding the smell of this rotting corpse of a general though
>>13962064
MFW, Assetto Corsa's physics can't handle oval tracks properly.
>>13962273
>To say there is no tradition in simracing is ridiculous.
No, it's fact.
And it matters because the popularity of real racing is tanking and tradition is one of the few things partly sustaining it. Getting new NASCAR fans that didn't pick it up from their family or something is almost impossible.
