I really really like their latest sedans, the S-Class is great and the C-Class is just as agile as the 3 Series but more spacious and the comfort mode in the Merc is better than in the BMW. Also my grandpa had one of the first C-Classes until 2 years ago, sadly it was only held together by rust

Driving a W203, I've been enjoying it.

If you don't mind keeping up with the maintenance (oil changes, regular cleaning, etc), they're dependable cars.

Unfortunately a lot of people think "well I can't do anything because all dem computers" and they do fuck all for maintenance that leads to inevitable failure, and they never get it restored to proper working order.

Pretty good / 10. Easily the best German automaker, and the most reliable. Good mix of refinement and either efficiency or raw power depending upon which engine you option on any given model.

They do some cool stuff like the G63 6x6 and the AMG GT. Their passenger vehicles are also good from what I hear.

They depreciate fast though, and they're not maintenance-friendly vehicles. Still, if someone took good care of it, it makes a very fine used car.

sorry but most of the mercedes you can afford are not worth it.

this is because they are underpowered. the ones you buy are likely only about 300 hp. that means the mid tier E class is too heavy for them. the highest hp in that class is about 330, and will not give you enough spring because of hte body.

the C-class is pure shit but you will feel at least a little bump when you press the gas if you get the 300hp (and not the shit 200 hp C-class).

accordingly since E class is underpowerd and only one model in the C class is ok, then mercedes sucks donkey balls

If you can afford the higher S class, then you shouldn't be dropping 100k on a fucking mercedes. there are much better 100k cars out there.

the only luxury cars that are worth it are the the lower class with the high HP.

for example, the E class of mercedes (300 hp) is not worth it. the bodies are too big for that low of hp - you get little pick up.

The C class of mercedes (200hp) is not worth it, unless they had gone to 300 hp (none do) - only the C450 AMG sedan might be good at 362 hp and 50k price tag.

the bmw 5 series is at 300 hp so is not worth it, except the 550 which has over 400 hp , so it is worth it. the bmw 3 series is not worth it, unless its at 300 hp (which the bmw 335i is.

no lexus vehicle is worth it, because they all have the 300 hp - except only the IS350 is worth it because the body is just small enough to not be too heavy (but not too small) and so has good pick up. the RC (which is the resplacement of hte IS F) might be ok but its small and only 2 door.

so i would say only the bmw 335i, the bmw 550i and the lexus IS350, and the mercedes C450 AMG are value. however, the bmw 550i at 445 hp is 70k so...you get value but you are paying more than the others.

the highest models of each are each quality -but you are spending 80-100k, so i would probly just get the bmw 7 series since they just updated on teh software - however, there are many other options and possibly better options once you hit this price range

these companies are ripping people off ESPECIALLY in the MID classes. they are giving small engine with large bodies, with no pickup while charging you a shit ton more.

I like the way the E class from the late 90s looks, both inside and out. There are a few on craigslist with some fixable issues (based on the descriptions) for ~$1000. If there are other things wrong with it not wrenchable from home, will I run into a large repair bill?

Those headlights look atrocious.

Never could see the draw to these cars instead of getting a v6 Camry or accord with a high trim. You get nearly 300hp with those, they weigh less so just as fast, and you still get all the luxury features that actually matter.

You get rwd but who cares when it's a boat. Sitting in a 3 series felt no different than any other reasonable non-American sedan. There's a reason these shitlord Germans are all making fwd shitboxes now because nobody even knows if their badge is rwd or fwd
