We should. One of the reasons American road racing is so fragmented and thus shit is because of no FIA presence.

IMSA is attempting to copy them, but they fail with stupid decisions like DP cars.

Panoz has made weird cars for decades. They had the first hybrid LMP in 1999, before LMP1 teams like Audi, Courage Competition or Peugeot considered it.

Even ADAC homologates to FIA rules.

US should just embrace Formula 4, FIA touring car homologations, rally homologation and classes, and GT/Prototype homologations.

The FIA's going full retard though. LMP2's going from a free, open class next year intoone that has only 4 approved chassis contructors (Ligier, Oreca, Dome & Riley Technologies) only one engine manufacturer by 2017.

Conversely, IMSA's doing away with DP's and going to LMP2s with GT3-Spec engines in 2017 with a fuck-ton of companies interested in fielding cars.

Yes. Oreca technically bought the remains of Courage, but their base in the infield at Le Mans remains (Or was it Ligier? It all got muddy in the late 2000's when I drifted away from sportscar racing and OnRoak showed up).
