So you're in physics 101, alright. So you know how gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy work, or you will soon. Gravitational potential energy is a function of mass, gravity, and height, m*g*h=Pe. So a car on flat ground has rougly constant height, constant mass, and gravity is constant. If the potential energy doesn't change, kinetic energy can't change, and since kinetic energy is a function of mass and velocity, (1/2)*m*v^2=Ke, and mass, again, is constant, velocity cannot change.

Doing just physics is far from what I'd like to do for a living, though if I want to own a speedshop and build fast cars I should at least know how to calculate forces and such so I don't make shitty cars.
