I had an eonon unit in my e46. I loved it, it really modernized the look of the interior. I had a ton of useful apps installed such as osmand, torque pro, blackvue app, gasbuddy, etc.

I now have an e92 with logic 7 and its not compatible.

You have no idea what you're talking about. RF is slightly better than a cassette adapter at best, and cassettes are miles worse than a CD. CD and FLAC quality are fucking identical, because they are both lossless. If your FLAC is lower quality than a CD, it's either a bad compressor not actually pumping out the L in FLAC or it's your own placebo effect.

Never messed around with Android. have Kenwood units in all my Mercedes, as the navigation software is Garmin, so it's just like having a Garmin unit stuck to your windshield. Also, Kenwood's units tend to look less like they came out of a UFO from the 80's, which is a plus.

You're trying to talk about using the fucking AM/FM antenna input slot with an adapter cable in place of an auxiliary line, NOT an RF adapter, which is what you're actually describing.

RF adapters--that transmit the signal over a radio frequency and not through cables--are limited under the same FCC regulations as damn near every other RF device, and are still limited by the transmitter AND receiver.

Regardless, you're still wrong because the best FM input adapters are just over 80 db SNR and still have the 30-15 response. Those numbers are going to be limited by OEM equipment, because not all head units are equal. This is assuming you're using a lossless codec that can reach a CD, which typically has over 100 db of SNR and 10-20khz response.

Every Android-based head unit is at least 2 years out of date, at minimum, and will probably never be updated.

Proper Android Auto, where your phone does the heavy lifting and all the head unit does is display it, is the only way to go. But those aren't widely avaliable because every head unit maker wants to be "no cell phone required" as if it's 1999 or something.
