GTR2; you're able to mix and match mods and make your own single player championship/mod group.

When this thing revs in gear it will suddenly drops from 7k rpm to 6k rpm then continues to climb back up, yet it revs normally while in neutral

Also if I shift it before the revs drop I'm short shifting it

If you are using a car with less general stabiliy than Porsche, then i suggest the follwing things for B-specing the setup:
+1 rear wing
+2 clicks front ARB
+2 clicks front springs
+1 click increase in both toe values
Also different cars may use different gearings so make sure your final gear is set so, that you get into the red exactly on the end of the straight.

the multiplayer plays nicely when the server isn't on a toaster with some shit tier low bandwidth home internet connection, but the weird car limit (90's dtm server with 18 cars, 6 must be M3, 6 must be merc, 6 must be alfa) rather than just letting the players choose what they want is a really dumb way to handle it for pick up racing

all that said I've had some great races online in it and absolutely love the game for driving winding roads/touge's in single player with a plethora of street cars I've downloaded

I played it for 4 years straight. One of the good things was that there was always people to race with, at any given time, and after the fuckfest of rookies(see>>13851376), racing becomes much cleaner. Any game with self-propelled personal transport is /ovg/. It doesn't matter if it's not explicitly in a racing game, so long as it's fun to drive.
As an example, a Halo deathmatch webm would be out of place here, but not one of a Warthog Run or multiplayer Race mode.

To the point: Rocket League is /ovg/ because, while it's not strictly auto racing, it is a virtual motorsport simply by virtue of having cars in a competitive environment.
