$18k gets you an LS2 c6.


Get the c5 instead unless you absolutely hate the look.


An LS3 c6 has much, much, much better mod potential, resale value and only costs around $3-4k more. Plus it's a tiny bit faster. Make sure you get one with the z51 package.

C5s and C6s are basically the same car as far as the chassis is concerned
LS1/LS6 vs LS2 is pretty similar as well
Main difference is looks
If you can find a LS3 car that would be a better option

Honestly I would find a modded C5 non z
I bought a 00 FRC for 12k and has a ton of mods almost makes the same power as a stock C6Z to the wheels

I don't even particularly like corvettes (I'm more of a porsche guy) but if anything, this picture is a testament to the performance of the C5 corvette. With technology that was antiquated even by 90's standards, the Z06 can almost keep up around a track with a modern, awd, racing-bred, performance vehicle after nearly 20 years. Not to mention the corvette comes from a country that has historically produced cars that can't turn for shit.
