what tyres do you /are you going to have mounted on your car now that its getting colder?
pic related, here.
also tyres general
Good question, all I know is they're Continental. I got them with the car back in spring and they're still under a cover in the garage because the weather seems to refuse getting colder.
Nokian tyres hakka 8. Nokian is winning every test for studded tyres all the time.
Hakka 7's on their last season
HyFly something or other
Absolutely awful, already been though a hedge once, made in China, won't grip for shit but they ran me £35 a wheel including fitting so I can't complain
>>13839507
I don't need to change my tires because I have AWD
Just kidding even that doesn't matter, I live in Texas
>>13839565
fukken expensive though
probably worth it if you're driving on a lot of solid snow, but i do most of my driving on cleared roads so I can't justify the $225+ pricetag
>>13839587
>so I can't complain
>already been though a hedge once
>can't complain
>can't complain
>can't complain
That hedge could be a person at some point, remember that. Tires aren't something to be overly Jewish with, they're the sole contact between your vehicle and the road. If you're going to buy snow tires, at least buy something not made in China.
got new nokian hakkapeliitta 7's for really cheap, installed them last week
>>13839675
They're all seasons, and I live literally 200 feet from the Irish sea so I'm not seeing snow
Also I'm still not sure if the hedge thing was down the shit tyres or my ABS malfunctioning
>>13839685
>driving in the winter with cheap shit Chinese all-seasons
>doesn't even get snow
>still managed to go through a fucking hedge
>Irish sea
Probably had less to do with your ABS and more to do with your A L C O H O L I S M.

>When viewed through a microscope, the outer Blizzak Multicell compound resembles the appearance of Swiss cheese because it contains millions of uniformly distributed microscopic pores that are constantly being exposed as the tread surface wears. In addition to providing thousands of miniature biting edges, these pores help wick away the thin layer of water that often develops on top of snow packed and icy roads, allowing the biting edges to better adhere to the surface for more traction.

Jokes on you, I'm on the other side of the Irish sea
It's not alcoholism, it's depression
>>13839676
probably knockoffs
enjoy your head on collision
>>13839701
shots poured
>>13839721
>lives in Britain
>jokes on me
>>13839729
Better than Ireland for sure, at least my economy sort of works
>>13839734
>>13839734
yeah but you don't get those sweet redheaded catholic sluts
just burnt chavettes in 5 inch heels
MOI BRITIN
>>13839749
>Actually thinks they exist
Protip: Irish sluts are British sluts with an annoying accent and dyed hair
>>13839734
OK Mahmoud, keep telling yourself that
>>13839850
Try further north mate, the pakis live in England
What I've got is 1 in 5 citizens as heroin users 21% unemployment and rain every fucking day
All terrain tire is best tire.
>>13839822
>Irish accent annoying
>British accent not annoying
You've got that backwards m8. Irish girls have a hot lilt, British girls have a dick-curling screech.
And most "British girls" probably wear a burka now.
>>13839864
Only if you drive a truck.
>$285 price tag
>tire so stiff it rustles my jimmies from here
>literally shreds ball joints and bearings on anything less than a truck
>Crossovers, you have been warned.
>>13839869
I hate English bitches as much as I hate the Irish mate, but you're deluding yourself if you think that TV Irish are anything like IRL Irish
>>13839864
>all that grip on ice and hard snow
>>13839883
I'm Canadian, I don't know what "TV Irish" is.
>>13839914
You literally just posted it, the idealized Irish you see on TV as opposed to IRL Irish who are just the same kind of awful people that live in Britain
>>13839920
I refuse to believe this. Ireland is a magical fantasy land of gold, liquor, and beautiful women.
I smell a jealous Scotsman.
>>13839874
They're not terribly rough, just don't drive through potholes like you don't give a shit, which you shouldn't be doing anyway!
>>13839947
If I'm going to drive like a dainty fag and avoid potholes I might as well buy a $180 all season.
There is really no reason to run A/Ts unless you're regularly going off paved roads, like if you work construction or something.
>mfw most construction workers drive shitty old minivans or base model japanese cars
>want Michelin X-Ice snows
>budget of $300 a month to fuck around with
>4 tires come out to somewhere around $330
I need to hit up the junkyard for new wheels too although it shouldn't cost me much over $90
>>13839864
I had some 33 bfg at for my jeep, really good tires, tons of grip off road and still quiet on road. I had them for about 7 months before the jeep was totalled in an unrelated accident.
Continental DWS 06, couldn't justify getting winter memes where I live, it only snows sometimes and they cancel work for me when it's actually bad.
>>13841138
Talk to some dark skinned gentlemen, I'm sure they could hook you up with some nice tires/wheels for a few hundred.
General altimax artic. Not to pricey and give good performance
ITT:
a bunch of idiots that think winter tires are only for driving on snow. If it is lower than 40° F then you will notice increased breaking and handling performance due to the softer compound. Regardless of any precipitation on the road. All season tires are somewhat ok but still will suffer in lower temperatures.
michelin X-ice3 on my subaru. They are nice. Thanks /o/
>>13841337
Well I'm surely not going to use winter tires that break
>>13841337
All seasons suck ass in the winter, they get hard as fuck and it's like driving on rocks. You just kinda of learn to slide across things though, and if your car has ABS/ETC/EST/etc. you can usually avoid hitting anyone.
I did it last winter and it wasn't that fun, I had to be WAY too cautious around minor shit because I KNEW I would kick the ass end out if I took that corner at more than 10km/h.
Just bought some Blizzaks, can't wait to go dashing through the snow with them.
I'm going to get some all season michelins for my Fiesta when the stock ones wear out soon. I don't need to worry much about snow.
Toyo Observe, just got them. They're doing well so far.
>>13841419
You better not smash into me fucker. I want this winter to be a cozy one, without any wrecked vehicles.
Sport comp 2.
In the corolla. Cali MasterRace
>>13841419
These are the ones I'm buying next:
PILOT SPORT A/S 3 (H- OR V-SPEED RATED) High Performance All-Season
@ $132 per tire
>>13841450
>high performance
>all season
Pick one.
>>13841482
That's unfortunately what they are called. I'm guessing they are high performance for all seaons. Just slightly better no season tires.
http://www.michelinman.com/US/en/tires/products/pilot-sport-a-s-3.html
>>13841522
*HIGH PERFORMANCE
*as compared to riding a log down a river
>>13841522
Probably still decent, I had Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2s on my last car and it made a noticeable difference. They were strictly summer tires though. Keep in mind that overall performance will denigrate with winter use, as the tires will get dried out quicker from all the salt. Plus they'll get really faded, so buy some WET'N'BLACK for the springtime.
>>13841564
I just want some tires that are going to last more than a year. The stock Bridgestone Potenzas on my FiST will be worn out come my next oil change. 17,000 miles is just not enough miles for how expensive they are.
>>13841614
>stock tires
>expecting them to not be complete and utter fucking DOGSHIT
Kek, if I ever bought a new car it would be conditional that they remove the stock shit rubber and replace it with something of actual worth.
Which is probably why I'll never buy a new vehicle. They're all kikes and that's how they fuck you.
The same ones i have at any other time of the year
>>13841678
They drove very nice....at first. But after the first 10000 miles, they went to shit.
>no mention of yokohama tires
It's like you're all poorfags or something.
>>13841703
At least they aren't OEM Goodyears. Those fucking things get to maybe 30K before the belts all come apart inside them, but they still have over half tread on them.
>>13842161
Can confirm, work at tire shop and goodyear wrangler SR-A's are the consistentally shittiest tire i see.
is there a point to having winter tires if you live in an area where it snows maybe one or two days out of the whole year? Still gets below freezing sometimes but almost never snows.
>>13841183
Nah, I'll just kidnap >>13841371 's dog/cat/parents/computer to use as ransom
>>13842172
Do you have any info on the Cooper STT vs Toyo Open Country MT? Looking at tires I'm considering putting on my future SUV that'll be capable of foresting, muddy roads and similar conditions while towing a medium-heavy trailer
Also been looking at Cooper Adventurer A/T and the Toyo Open Country AT2 Extreme
>>13842646
Didn't see this until I posted
Are you absolutely reliant on driving those days? Its "doable" if you have good all-seasons and you live somewhere flat, but you'll need to keep the speed low and be quite careful
Investing on winters would be a bit of waste, as after 5, maybe 6 years they'll be unusable
>>13843902
no the entire town shuts down if it snows here. I probably would just stay home on those days.
>>13843920
Then I wouldn't really bother, its essentially wasted money
>Pissing rain last night
>Girlfriend called me saying she got a flat at school
>Drive all the way out, put on her spar tire
>Soaking fucking wet for the drive back
Still need to check the tire over to see why it went flat but fuck why does this shit happen in the rain
>>13843947
Always fun
Woke up last Friday to my left rear tire having an amazing 7 PSI, and two days earlier I had pumped it up to 40 PSI... fucking valve cores
