Gathering inspiration. One day i will build one.
How much fuel do these consume, what is the range?
Also, why do they put "roll cages" on the outside of the vehicle? Seems a bit retarded when they're just attached to the bodywork..?
Build the fenton rv please
I love the idea of these, but in going anywhere remote enough to need one, I'd be afraid of being attacked by thieves or whatever.
It seems like to enjoy a toy like this you'd need a group of fellow adventurers with similar vehicles, so you could all go together and look out for one another in potentially unfriendly corners of the world.

>Also, why do they put "roll cages" on the outside of the vehicle
so when theyre wheeling in theory rocks will hit them instead of the actual body panels
I have the same dream as you OP.
One day I'm going to build my truck and travel the world.

Damn where's the big one ?
>>13830468
They arent rollcages, they are there to keep shit from scraping the bodywork
>>13830766
Some of them are external roll cages. I don't see any in this thread that would protect the bodywork like the cages you see on rock crawlers. Just external roll cages and front bars that protect the cab from tree limbs and stuff.

There are plenty of remote places in Canada where you will never see another human

please don't.
it's like buying one hundred thousand rolls of toilet paper.
everybody will say it's easyer to just buy when you need.
you will do the math and show them you are awesome.
>awesome and having one hundred thousand rolls of toilet paper.
Only ones worth anything.
>>13830468
it shouldnt consume much more than 15l/100km
>>13830548
Im from eastern europe, plenty of remote places here too. If you avoid africa, south america and the middle east, you should be fine

sue me for having a dream
Amerifat here, those look great. Theres a unimog for sale locally and its so hard to not pull the trigger
>>13837365
these trucks will consume 25+l/100km
>>13830351
How much are these things? Think I'll just stick with something like this.
I want to buy an old cubevan for cheap one day and make a shitty redneck camper out of it.

Dat gypsy lyf tho

Im thinking 20k euro for the truck, and something like twice as much to bring it into shape (+ ~1 year of work at least)
all you need is a surplus military 5 ton truck and a shelter designed to go on the back.
