The Alfa Romeo in my picture is my first factory new car - so in the 12 weeks I waited for it my birthday passed and I was bought a big box of Autoglym stuff. Since then I've bought loads of bits and bobs but the Autoglym stuff is what I feel works best.

I wish i had a photo of my car cleaning shelf, its got loads of product, tools and cloths on it - it looks pretty sweet.

What do you use Anon ?

Bump because everyone should be able to clean their car.

DOEZ RIMZ

How long did that take per wheel ????
>>
>>13827977

Are poorfags allowed to post?
>>
>>13828005
About 10 to 15 mins per wheel, front tends to take longer.

>>13828024
Yes, anyone can improve the look of their car and everyone should feel proud after doing so.

Dunno man, the silver on your wheels looks a bit dull, could do with some polish.

Got any close-ups of them, they look interesting, not the sort I'd expect to see on that car, are they aftermarket?

It's a requirement to have one in order to show a car indoors at that convention center. Considering all the classic cars, I'd say it's reasonable.

This is what it used to look like. Did a full claybar treatment. Paint isn't anywhere this clean anymore ;~;

I wish there was a place near me that had a covered place to clean my car. It's a pain to get the hose out at my house.

Nice Alfa OP.

I've got a question, I don't have access to any pressure washer, unless I got to those washing stations.
Can I wash my car with buckets of water exclusively without fucking up the paint?
Like this:
>soak car with water
>soak car with water and shampoo
>rub with a soaked washing mitten
>rinse it with water

Should I wax it too? If so, what are the best brands in yurop?
>>
>>13827344
anyone have tips for keeping your car clean in the winter? i wash bi-weekly, but i live in Ontario. Do no-touch stations work? do they dry your car?

need to get that punk ass salt off

Just wash the car like you usually would, be very thorough with the inside of wheelarches, wheelflares, brakes, general underside, around trimpieces and similar areas

If you're afraid of the doors freezing then you can buy something like a Turtle Wax Silicone Stift and then apply a layer around your the metal of your door to prevent it from getting stuck, and lock oil in the locks to prevent that from freezing

There is really nothing "bad" about having a light layer of ice on the car, it disappears quite quickly by itself anyway. Just make sure that your window wipers aren't completely frozen when you try to activate them as it may fuck up the electric motors

>fuck salt
>>
>>13829297
Single stage is cake to cut though and with these Miatas you can compound them when they get dull and BAM you have a shiny new car, no swirls, and good looking paint

I should add; degreaser is a must if you want maximum clean, as it dissolves salt and makes it so much easier to get it off
>>

OP here, thanks, i love my MiTo, first factory new car i've owned.

Asides from a garden hose pre rinse i use buckets exclusively.

You really need two of them, for a proper wash and three to be on the safe side. my process is this.

Rinse car wish hose to get rid of large deposits (use bucket or watering can for this in your case)

Then I take my wheel bucket and work on each wheel.

Then i'll rinse the wheels to get rid of any left over wheel cleaner (its acidic)

Then I'll fill the wash bucket with shampoo, dunk my wash mitt or microfibre in it and wash from the roof down. After each panel I'll dunk the wash mit / cloth in the third and final rinse bucket to get rid of dirt. Usually when you're doing the lower part of the car you'll want to rinse after each stroke as the car is obviously more dirty down there.

Once thats done the car will get a final rinse.

Thats the was complete, eveything after i would consider detailing.

I have two options from here.

Every 3 months or so I will go over the car with Autoglym HD Wax. In between using this wax I will use the Autoglym Aqua (spray) wax to maintain the finnish.

All the product I use is from Autoglym, and if you're in Europe I would suggest you do the same.

Maybe this is a good place to ask, I just got a car a couple days ago and I'm going through and cleaning everything out and running into some issues

What are the best ways to keep grease/hand prints off of the door when people open/close them?

And what's the best way to remove poorly applied plastic-dip? Previous owner did a real Shit job on the rims and it's really giving me trouble to take it off
>>
>>13833259
Thank you man. I'll keep in mind your tips when washing my car.

>What are the best ways to keep grease/hand prints off of the door when people open/close them?

Use a detailing spray or spray wax with a microfibre to get rid of it when it appears. There isnt really much you can do to prevent peoples hands leaving marks.

My car is usually clean enough that people keep their hands on the handles, although one time my newphew put his hand on my frameless window to close the door and i lost my shit.

Made the little shit cry in a busy supermarket car park. Probably shouldn't of put my hands on his glasses as an example...

My sides.
>>
>>13833599
Alright thanks, I've got some stuff I can keep in my car for it but I didn't know if there was something I could spray/wipe on that would prevent it in the first place.
>>
>>13833599
wow you're a dick
>>
>>13833784
do you have glasses ?
>>
>>13833791
yeah
but i just wipe them off when they get dirty
they are also pretty scratched up, but thats just life
you cant keep everything super pristine forever
at some point you just have to relax and enjoy what you have instead of becoming neurotic about keeping something perfect all the time.

Literally cancer.

They have a product for every conceivable thing and their videos even talk about how you should buy thier clothing range so you dont scratch the car.

I aslo heard the guy say that you need to use their clay lube because water is bad for clay... seriously.

I'm getting angry thinking about those shitters.,
