Can fwd drive cars be any fun at all?

Obviously

Yes
>>13827162
sure
if you like understeering into a tree, then sure.

Yes, it is the ideal setup for making a low-powered, lightweight, fun to drive passenger car. Look at things like the Mini Cooper, or any hot hatch. FWD always for responsive and lively steering and can make for very fun to drive cars. The only real problems show when the car has a lot of power.
yeah
fwd just takes skill to be fun and most rwd bandwagoneers lack it

Bench racer alert

well what about my car
it doesn't understeer unless your corner under power. its heavy. its not low powered.
its also pretty decently balanced, not front heavy.
is it good or bad? it will oversteer like mad in the snow, but in dry it just digs in and bites, feels like no matter how fast i go, the chassis gives no confidence, but if you are brave enough it will step the back out at pretty scary speeds. its not a sports car by any means thats for damn sure. it will also spin the tires until it gets to about 45mph, imo a fwd trait
but it handles like no other fwd car i have driven.

High power means you need a torque vectoring lsd and honda proved it. I think you'll start to see more high power fwd cars that have really fucking fancy lsds to accompany them
>>13826939
sure, in reverse.
j turns are fun but thats about it.
even the most underpowered Volvo 240 is 100% more fun than the hottest FWD hatch around.

Is that how you console yourself when you see fwd that's faster than your car in every way
my Acura TL UA8 is pretty fun when the vtec kicks in.

Kek, just listen to yourself anon
yes they can
>>13826939
Yes, if you drive them in reverse.

I have a n/a redblock Volvo and a 2.5L VW Golf. The Volvo makes maybe 110hp, the Golf makes 170.
The Volvo also has terrible suspension stock, it sways like hell and handles like an old American car would. The VW when it was stock was pretty predictably understeery but rode infinitely smoother and tighter.
I love me some Volvos (I've owned a pretty fair share of them over the past six years) but no. just no.
I know /o/'s collective dick is hard over RWD cars and can't see any benefit to FWD whatsoever but for 95% of the time, FWD is going to do just fine and can be really quite fun.
I wouldn't wanna autocross or take my FWD car to the track, but backroads are way more fun in this thing than they are in my stocker Volvo.
Only complaint is it does understeer pretty readily in the rain IF I'm in a low gear and give it throttle. But I also have shit tires, and the 2.5 has a pretty flat torque curve so it's not like a Honda.
Also the traction control sucks, but I usually turn it off if I think I've gonna be in a situation where I'm gonna lose traction because it's a lot easier to control the car overall without the damn computers kicking in and backing off the throttle.

Except that's wrong.
we've had a bunch of these threads recently
