No it's not, her finger is on the trigger while the gun is pointed to the fucking sky. Unless she is planning to shoot some clouds, this is most defintely not correct.

Your finger should only be on the trigger when YOU ARE READY to shoot and kill something. If you're not pointed at your target, you're not ready to do that. If you're reloading a magazine, you're not ready to do that.

Anonymous, this isn't some kind of fictitious belief. I have done extensive research, they can not be found for that price. I am sorry for being the person to blow your mind and suggest that the world is larger than the town you live in.
>>
>>13825744
I live in a major city, and have looked up prices for one all over my state and more (Texas). 5k can get you a T2 if you are patient, they are just getting kind of rare.
>>
>>13825688
Base Preludes are actually a little lighter than the SH. They're also much easier to turbo or otherwise mod, because you don't have to work around ATTS. The SH will handle better out of the box, but the base is still a good car with plenty of potential.

>>13825780
also, the SH has a very complicated suspension system that is expensive to repair if anything goes wrong. the guy at the tuning shop i go to told me the base model is a better modding platform because it's simpler.
>>
>>13825805
why would you ever want a base model over a civic or crx
the civic is better, lighter
the only thing 5th gen prelude had was ATTS for better handling, other than that its nothing

the thing about touge is that a large part of it is how well you can drive your car at the limit, how well you know the road, and how much you can push youself. if its just you and your friends racing shitboxes it's mostly based on who has the most experience, not who has the best shitbox.

preludes are good, for the first two years they were pretty much the top 5 in the national 2 litre NA cup.

It was only last year that the Pugeot 205's came in, the results always amuse me though with how far down the MR2's and MX5's are.
>>
>>13825937

FWD is bad

there's a reason they lose on initial D and are known for handling worse

FWD is objectively worse than RWD but a fwd car can still handle well and be fast.
>>
>>13826010

this

it is always going to be inferior, now and forever
fuck FWD

but no cheap RWD cars exist
>>
>>13826022
There are cheap rwd, but I would rather have an Integra GSR than a 4 cylinder turd Gen. For the same price fwd will be faster and probably in better condition. It's just a matter of whether that you think it's worth it have a worse platform or a slower, worse car
>>
>>13826048
Why do you tards think fwd is bad
It can be just as good as rwd with skill
>>
>>13825627
Does anyone know or what
>>
>>13826102
FWD is worse than RWD, it has no advantages over it. FWD cars can be good, be faster and handle better than RWD cars though. It is just a disadvantage, which can be overcome with skill and the right set up. To say there is nothing wrong with FWD is just wrong though, even if it can be good.
>>
>>13826005

what?
shut the hell up anon you have no idea how cars work
what disadvantage?
overcome what?
nobody gets you
>>
>>13825977
But every cars lose in Initial D, and most cars are rwd in Initial D.
>>
I love those preludes, how do I get over the fact that its not RWD?
>>
>>13826146
I like fwd cars, but pretending that turning and accelerating with the same wheels isn't a disadvantage is silly. Also, when accelerating the weight transfers off of the drive wheels, which is a lot of what gives them their famous low gear traction issues. I get being annoyed at the rwd babbies, but don't be a moron.
>>
>>13826146
>what disadvantage?
Are you trying to tell me there are no disadvantages to fwd? Because there are many.
Less traction over the drive wheels when accelerating, giving less traction to the drive wheels and causing more wheelspin
Torque steer because the steering and drive wheels are the same
Turn worse for lots of reasons. The only ways to get them to turn as well compromises the rest of the suspension (like inducing oversteer by using super high spring rates or really stiff sway bars).
You don't have the same control over your car
Less maneuvers you can perform
>overcome what?
The disadvantages stupid
>>
>>13826213

i don't understand this
how would you overcome this then
how is it as good as RWD ever?
you're a dickhead
>>
>>13826232
You can't 100% overcome the disadvantages if fwd, which is why rwd is better. You can still make a fwd car better than a rwd car with a good set up, you just have to work around it's disadvantages.
>>
>>13825937
What is ''levin''? AE111?
>>
>>13826272
Yep. Levins and Truenos look so cool, even the 90s fwd ones. Those, Celicas, Preludes, MX6s and Integras should have been rwd. FWD purist are going to blast me for saying that but fwd purist just buy Civics anyways because more cheap and more light, the two main advantages to fwd.

It may be heavier but the engine has good potential for power on the cheap, it's not hard breaking 200+ whp. The chassis is pretty capable, the H22, with its gearing and torque, has no problem rocketing a prelude on the touge. Get a good suspension setup with some nice Staggered rubber and you can put some smug, lazy civic/integra ricers in their place.

We can get the cars imported and do it the exact same way, only better because our American made parts don't fail NEARLY as often as your japcrap. Not like you guys take care of them anyway, they go for absolutely nothing, or use them for fucking daily drivers. You goddamn idiots don't even know what you have. I DREAM of owning a right hand drive. I scout all the junkyards, I looked up the conversions, I want one HERE, and use the car for what it's supposed to be used for, the wangan and the touge. I already restarted the midnight club out of my high school, we go every night on the interstate. They all have imported cars. Civics, 180sx's, one of us (We call him Tim-san) has a R32. We KNOW how to use the cars. We CARE about the cars. Japanses cars are the best in the world, and can beat out any other country in the world when tuned right. But you fucking idiots like to let them rot in scrapyards off the highway, or take them DRAG RACING. What happened to the touge? Why don't you at least do that? Why do you have to fail at literally everything?

I already plan to go over there and pick myself up an ORIGINAL AE-86. I KNOW the mountians I will take it on. I KNOW what I will say to the faggots in the MR2s and the R32s because I'm LEARNING the language. You sit behind your computer screen unable to respond with anything that isn't 'stupid burger', but you just know that when both of us are on the downhill, you'd just be left in the dust. I don't care if I wasn't born in Japan, I was born to race there. Fuck you if you don't agree.

Thankfully some people on this site understand me. Only my Wangan group feels the way I do on this topic. Everything thinks that JDM cars should just stay in Japan, and I HATE that. Their potential is wasted there. We have much wider roads, where we can drift anywhere. Our highways are straighter, so we can wangan harder and longer. Our tuning scene is the best in the world. We are a global fucking power, dammit, and the only thing we can't do is make good cars. Every Japan stopped making good cars after 2001. I don't fucking get it, we had it perfect, but now its gone and wasted on fucking FAGGOTS holding all the cars for themselves. Captive imports just don't cut it. I'm driving a Starion right now, but everyone insists its a fucking CHRYSLER. IT IS NOT A AMERIFAT. Just because it says its made by fucking dodge doesn't mean it IS. Its MADE by Mitubishi, but can I get a right-hand drive kit for it? NO, I CANT. Why? BECAUSE THE FUCKING JAPANESE ARE HOLDING THEM FOR THEMSELVES. When I turned 18 last year, I took a fucking racing school. Its been a full year of me honing my skills on the highways and touges of my state, and I'm ready to go and fuck up anyone who looks at my Starion sideways on the touges of Japan. I can do it, my high school has a japanses exchange program. That's my time to shine. I want to drift Mount Fuji like the greats did. I CAN DO IT BECAUSE I CAN BEAT THEM AND ALL YOU FAGGOTS KNOW IT

I know I'm right because the kek from nz stopped responding. Go on faggots, tell me I'm right. If you respond, Its a challange, and you have 24 hours to meet me at Yellowstone National Park where I can prove I can touge better then ALL OF YOU FUCKS

My names in the image filename, put in youtube and you can see what me and my club will do to your sorry ass when we meet you on the downhill

haha you actually want people to honestly take him seriously and not just laugh and walk away?

okay, okay, ill humor you.

Its not that americans 'cant' like JDM is that americans have a reputation for coveting something being JDM when it doesnt even matter. America has this silly "USDM vs JDM" culture from the 80's thats just plain stupid in post 2000's.

one lane each way on a road? good luck passing anyone. Its fucking retarded.

Especially when its illegal to under take on the highway, and you have to because you cant see shit around people.

it might be nice as a weekend or track day toy but as a daily driver its just a hassle. Especially when RHD versions exist.

I had a US imported 924 porsche and a german imported Opel Manta. The US spec 924's are horrible.

OP,on the subject of the Prelude, I would strongly advise against turning one into your designated racer/track car. Short and simple answer, the Prelude, while a capable car for the price point, just has too many things stacked against it to properly handle fast driving, mainly in the construction of the car itself and the aftermarket. I would highly recommend selling it (if it is already your designated project), or if it is your daily, simply keeping it as such. If I were you and I was looking for a sub 5k car to handle mountain roads capably, I would (personally) go for a 3rd-gen Subuaru Outback. Inexpensive wagon with 4wd, parts are VERY common, and the aftermarket is fuckhuge. The car itself is quite capable on its own as well, acceleration and handling (provided you have a solid set of tires on there, which you should be able to afford and still clear the sub-5k mark) is remarkably good. In my experience, in the stock trim it drives VERY close to a regular same-year Impreza, only without the Fast and Furious tax. The only difference is the Outback is a bit heavier due to the extra bodywork (however, I find the rear end is planted better due to the extra weight of the wagon section, as it took a LOT of extra work on my part to get the car to misbehave with a solid set of track rubbers on it).

At least where I am, you can pick up a manual transmission 3rd-gen for roughly 3k in good shape, replace the tires and strip the interior of any non-essential weight, and you have a pretty good start to a capable downhill vehicle. If you want to do performance, after the pre-requisite tires, I would personally do the sway bar (at least the STI version, fairly cheap to find at any Subie meet) and some new shocks, as the wagon has admittedly more body roll at speed due to its off-roading heritage. I personally know 2 people that have made Outbacks their 'racers' and they swear by them.
>>
>>13827829

this is insanely stupid and I can only conclude that you figured out where I live and are the guy selling the outback
>>
>>13827829

>3rd gen

Anon why are you recommending the most recent subaru outback? That is way expensive and it's just a crossover

How can you honestly recommend a Subaru Outback over the Civic, prelude, integra, 280sx for going fast? Over the regular subaru?
>>
>>13827829
I'm not OP but there is a pretty good stock 1999 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport for $2700 near me

should I buy that or get something like a Civic, Prelude, Del Sol, Integra, CRX, Miata

it's not really about downhill where I am, more of a track/drag/rally scene because there aren't very many hills or mountains here

how much do those things weigh and how much weight can i easily decrease?

it feels weird buying a station wagon for this kind of stuff, none of my animes or manga use one!
>>
>>13828355
>>13828298

I'm actually sober and trying to help this time, and I'm still fucking everything up. huehuehue

I was trying to say 2nd Gen, which is what I think the 2003-2009 gen is called. 1st gen could work, but I don't know the price or those 'cause I got none locally. At least for the second gen, 2.5k$ for a manual 4WD with sub 200k kilometers isn't too bad, especially considering its just a obese Impreza. Strip the weight and tighten the bottom and you are golden (or at least, golden on 'trading a Prelude' money).

The lude is fast, but it's also fat as fug. I like em though, the mechanical vtec hits a lot harder than the modern Si's
>>
>>13828680
From my random googling, the Outback weights 3119 pounds. Strip the nonessentials out (seats, interior decor, spare tire/tools, rear windows, etc) takes a few hours with a semi-comprehensive toolkit, incredibly rough math says you are maybe looking at 200-300 pounds total stripped off the car. Maybe removing/replacing front/rear bumpers/hood if you are going nuts with it should take off some more pounds (100-150?) and can also be done in the timespan of a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Removing all luxuries from the car can take it down somewhere in the area of 2800 pounds (give or take 100), which isn't too bad desu.

Remember, all math is incredibly rough so if someone wants to correct me on this shit, feel free.
>>
>>13828781
But it's first gen. 2nd Gen outback doesn't exist here

You're drunk as shit you can't give real advice
How in the world does a prelude weigh as much as a station wagon
This 1st Gen impreza outback sport is the only manual subaru that isn't $6k, fixing 2nd Gen wrx is $10k

I don't see how that fat station wagon is better than going with a Honda coupe
>>
>>13828818
OK, I may still be quite drunk. But less I'm drunk then when I attempted to 'troll' the thread with weeaboorage. That's what matters.

>2nd gen outback doesn't exist here

This genuinely stuck me dumb for a few seconds, because a second gen Outback is all you see where I live. I'm going off Ontario pricing, no idea where you are looking for them.

>I don't see how that fat station wagon is better than going with a Honda coupe

4WD, massive aftermarket, no FaF tax. I was going to say cheap parts/aftermakret but that seems to be a bit different for you then from where I am. I'm not saying the Prelude is bad, but I still think the Outback would be an upgrade for what not-op is looking for.
>>
>>13828934

I can't wangan race in a 1st Gen outback anon

>>
>>13828755
>mechanical vtec

all vtec is mechanical

literally the only difference between the older cars and the newer cars is better control over it's engagement.

in the old cars it was a really simple circuit. once oil pressure hit a certain point, it activated the VTEC. Usually like 3500rpm or whatever.

Now instead of being wired straight up, it sends the signal to the ECU which compares it against other things like load and throttle position and then feeds the signal to the solenoid to open up or not.

this is easily defeated with an aftermarket VTEC controller, which have been around as long as VTEC has.

and VTEC was made smoother on purpose, it's kind of stupid to have it just switch on and off at the same RPM regardless when instead it can open it earlier or later depending on how you're driving.
