I hope it sells well and inspires another automaker to make something like it.

I recently got into a job with a contractor and I have no need for a large pickup, nor the fuel economy of said pickup. I was looking at Avalanche's and Ridgeline's but they ironically have the same fuel economy and it's miserable.

I wish Pontiac had stayed around long enough to bring over a Ute. I'd love something like that.

Fucking Ridgelines. I have no clue who in their right mind buys something that gets all the shit mileage of a conventional half-ton truck with none of the utility that comes with half-ton truck. At least the Avalanche sits on a real half-ton truck chassis and can actually tow a decent amount of weight.

In all honesty, crossovers are a thing because in the USA defining something as an "SUV" puts a vehicle into a vehicle class that has less stringent fuel economy and pollution standards than the "car" class has. It's kind of like how USA doesn't get true small pickup trucks anymore because of the CAFE regs.

When the Ridgeline debuted it got better mileage with its V6 that the competitors did with their V8s. Honda just didn't bother updating this throughout its life, so by the time Ecoshit was introduced they were well behind the curve.

And who buys a Ridgeline? People who want the utility of a truck, without the headaches. They get a reliable vehicle (no, Ford, GM, and Chrysler do not make reliable vehicles, no matter how many times you say they do). They get a box, a big enough cabin to hold 5 people, higher seating position, AWD, and moderate towing.

It's basically an SUV with a box, not a truck. That was Honda's mistake, trying to market it as a competitor to V8 BoF constructed trucks.

I have never met someone with a Ridgeline who didn't like it. The only people who hate them are people who don't own one, and rightly so. Why would you buy a vehicle you don't like? And why would anyone buy a vehicle thinking it can tow 8500lbs, when Honda clearly tells you it can't?

It does what its meant to do, and it does it well. And a 2006 Ridgeline still has far better road manners than a 2015 domestic truck. Lots of people like that.

The level of butthurt that constantly flows from you anti-Ridgeline shills is amazing. It's like

>hey, stop liking what i don't like
>but i like it
>NO STOP ITS TERRIBLE I HATE IT STOP IT RRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Hey, bro.

The ridgeline is shit. Deal with it.

It's a minivan with a bed.

It's for soccer dads who have lost every last trace of their masculinity to try and recoup some by having a pallatable "truck" they can justify to their soccer mom wives.

It's not a real truck and cannot accomplish what a real truck can. It's a Honda that looks like a truck for people who don't actually need trucks.

It's shit.

>>13825559

This.

But it's based on market demand. Manlets driving Rangers and such were feeling emasculated by all da big twucks bullying them on the road. Half the Rangers I see now have lift kits and big, offset wheels.

>>13825473

Wipped manlets with nodicks don't buy Ridgelines, they buy gigantic road beasts like the 1500 or the F150 or the RAM1500. They have no say at home, their wife keeps their balls in a jar on the mantle, so they get in a giant truck and bully people on the roads. Your post is objectively wrong, because it's a well established fact that the weaker/cukkier someone is, the more ostentatious and beastly their vehicle will be.
>>
>>13825578
So why not just a minivan?
>>
>>13825831
Minivan's are typically larger/longer vehicles.

Some people don't like minivans.

Why would you buy a minivan when a crossover serves a similar purpose and you like it better?
>>
>>13825762

Except that I said this:

>It's basically an SUV with a box, not a truck. That was Honda's mistake, trying to market it as a competitor to V8 BoF constructed trucks.

Honda won't make a real truck for some time, even the new Ridgeline is slated to share a platform with the Honda Pilot, and it will be a V6 with FWD/AWD. I guess they figure the market is already too competitive, and the fact that they'd basically be obligated to start putting a V8 in their consumer vehicles. They are staunchly against this, for some reason.

>>13825668

I don't own a Ridgeline, I have no use for one. Personally, if I were to buy a vehicle of that cost, size, etc. I would just buy a 4Runner TRD. Better vehicle for the money IMO, if you don't need that open box.

You people seem to mistake one's ability for rational, reasoned thought as a weakness or bias. Sorry you're all products of an American education system. Good luck with that crippling debt and nigger trouble.

Getting more with less is always a good thing. It's time for the efficiency of the engines to go up. Expect to see solenoid operated valve trains replacing camshafts pretty soon. I saw a prototype made by koniegssegg that used the engine to compress an air tank when it was under negative load (i.e. letting off the throttle). The compressed air inside the tank could be fed back into the engine like a turbo. Really cool stuff coming guys just wait.

I thought BMW already has this on some of their engines

I bought a new Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring in black a little while back.

I guess my only defense is the totally predictable one ... It's somewhere between a small SUV and a car in pretty much every way, so it has some of the advantages of both and blah blah blah ........ you've heard it all before.

I kinda like it, but did I do bad /o/ ?

Meant to at least attach a marketing photo.

I think it looks pretty neat, and normally I would never consider an suv/pickup.

At least you bought the good one.

When it's toned down for production, it could actually be really nice.

Need more small trucks. That's not even that small, but it's a start.

aye.

Need Ranger sized trucks back. Why the fuck was 3 seats not enough for truckfags with no friends?

>implying normies drive decent cars as it is
let them have their pigfat. 20 years ago it was suvs, 30 brought the minivan, 40 it was station wagons. They'll always find something bad and think its acceptable. Have you ever talked with a normie about cars? Its mindblowing how retarded they are
