what dash cam do i buy?
I have a Genius DVR-FHD590. I've been using it 5-6 days a week, 2-3 hours a day for over a year now. It works really well, and doesn't glitch out or anything. I put a 32GB MicroSD card in it, so I get about 6 hours of continuous footage in hi def, with sound.
My only gripe, and this is really more about my car, is that I can't mount it up high behind the rear-view mirror. My vehicle has this stupid black dot shit that comes down from the border of the windshield, to act as a sort of sun shade, and the suction cup won't stick to that. So I have to mount it down lower.

I have the G1W. It's adequate for the $30-40 price. Doesn't seem to loop the recording after it fills up the memory card though, but maybe I don't have the right kind. Date resets all the fucking time too.
But the video quality is sufficient.

That's fucked up, mine does it automatically. Maybe there's a setting on yours that you missed.
Also should have mentioned, the Genius FHD590 is $150 Canadian dollary doos. Not the most expensive, but not super cheap either. Well worth it though, considering what an insurance deductible is. This would effectively waive that entire deductible if there was a debate over who's at fault.

I just bought a Vantrue P1 Pro for under $99
Heard it was highly reviewed, good quality, but honestly cant make out license plate at normal visual range, cant see them at all at night due to headlight reflections.
I dont know if they are all like that, but I wouldnt go any cheaper than that.
does anyone have a papago dash cam? they seem decent need a new one
DOD's are pretty sweet, look them up
I've been considering replacing my chinese POS... it works fine in good conditions, but at night or any type of low-light conditions it sucks ass
(best viewed in 60FPS, looks choppy as fuck in 30FPS)

I have a Falcon 170HD.
I wish it didn't look so much like a camera, if that makes sense. Otherwise, it does as well as I expected and came with everything, including its own GPS antenna that I haven't used and an SD card.
I've been thinking of getting a cheap one for the rear window but I'm stuck on how to power it.
we should have an /o/ approve 'which dash cam is gud' chart.

I have a G1W. Saved my hide when a sheriff's deputy backed into me and tried to blame it on me.
