Hey guys, I finally made it to the WAmeet!

Oh, i'm 10 hours late? Shit...

Ah well, the ride to Mundaring was nice, a little chilly. Got to finally let the new bike rip, feels so much quicker than the little Ninja.

Accidentally met up with some big random bike cruise that was parked at Alfred's along the way. Might have been the PSB newbie cruise since there were a lot of 300s.

>You finally got your new bike working right?
well not 100% right just yet.

on the way to work the other day i ran it completely out of petrol and had to walk to the petrol station (luckily one was pretty close by) and buy a 5L jerry can of petrol. Closest petrol station was united so i just went there. Bike seems to be running a lot better on United 98 than it did on BP Ultimate, so maybe there was sediment or some shit in the old petrol blocking up my carbs a bit.

Still not running perfect, but it needs a major service anyway so i've booked it in at the mechanic for a major service and carb tune up next week. all up probably looking at around $1,000 kill me senpai bikes are expensive (especially when it only cost 2500 when i bought it - after that i will be almost 5k including gear deep)

not really just what happens when you buy a 4cyl bike that need a major service done. Carbs might not need to be done but if they do its cleaning and balancing 4 carbs so its 300$.

$300 for the carbs and 650$ for the major service doesn't sound tooooooo bad
>>

I just wouldn't feel right being in a driverless car, there's too many variables for a car computer to take in, and some situations might occur that quickly that someone wouldn't have time to grab the wheel or something. And I like the experience of driving, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people enjoy it as well

That's the one. Saw a white one last night in Brisbane, I guess it would be a few years old judging by google pics.
What's the reason we can't import them? Or rather, only a few can be imported.
>>
>>13821252
you can't import models sold in australia that are less than 25 years old

since the forester was sold in aus, the STI can't be imported.

only exception is if you have owned the car in the country you are importing it from for over 1 year, and then you can import any vehicle under a personal import, hence how they come to australia.

Hey mates need some advice.

Applied online for this position for a certain job. The thing is its not a direct application to the company but its to some outsource place "Hoban recruitment" That basically interviews you first before they let you get interviewed by your soon to be employer so you don't waste their time.

I applied for it and sent my resume the chicks who does the interview for the Hoban recruitment is on the bottom but no number or email.

I found her email and phone number through an old article (3 years) old.

The position was just advertised 4 days ago and I applied 2 days ago (Friday night) and the info sesh is on the 11th.

Now my question for you is should I send a copy of the resume to her email as well than call her first thing monday morning and make some bullshit excuse like "hi my name is anon this is just a follow up call in regards to a resume I sent id just like to have confirmation that you have recieved it blah blah blah"

Think this is a good idea and that it'll make me show more imitative and she'll notice this so I'm more likely to get a call saying come in for a interview?

I got a decent resume and experience but anyone can do this job so I have to stand out some how.

Have kangaroo and ass for your time
>>
>>13821865

Went halves with a mate and bought some 94 pulsar with 154,000ks for $200.
Bought it off some old guy who always drives through our work pretty much every day for the past 6 months so at least we know it runs, it seems pretty fine actually besides being dirty and dinged up.
What are some things I should check? I figure this is a good way to get more into cars since it's a shit box anyway.

Compare your car to the same cars within your area on carsales.com

Because its a pulsar with reasonable k's, you should have no trouble doing this

Depends on the condition really.
Thing is a car like that is only really worth 1-2k according to carsales.
Give it a nice wash, bit of an interior wipe down, spruce up and im sure you can flip it for maybe 1-1.5k.
Autobarn stores etc, sell interior wipes and polishes etc for like 5 bux which makes everything look good when done right.

>>
>>13828330
You checked the bolt that holds the fuel tank on (by the seat)? The washers wear out and it causes the tank to rattle.
>>
>>13828342
Doubt it's that, it's coming from the engine, either 3rd or 4th cylinger
>>
>>13828359
No reason not to check. Remember the gear driven cams can introduce a lot of random noises. You should hear some of the sounds my R1 makes.

I'm getting the valve shims done when I get my lost wages. Friend has same model as me with 4,000km less and nine were out of spec. Hoping that stops the ticking noise I get in motion. Although I've heard that's a Yamaha thing.
>>
>>13828380
Do they have them as well? That explains why they sound so good flying past
>>
>>13828400
No gear driven cams to my knowledge, fairly sure it's a chain. There is a whine although I'm not completely sure what it's from. Could be the induction or some noise from the transmission. Could be both... I'll read into it at some point.

Anything above 60kph has this awesome jet-like sound. You can hear it every now and then in some of the random clips I've posted.

E30? MR2? Anything that fits the same criteria of an MX5 without looking like Stacy's first roadster.

Somewhere around that.... I only weigh 60kg. That's with a good tune though, which I doubt 90%+ CBR250RRs actually have. It's a little tricky to do as well, gotta preload the shifter just before the redline.

Forget how many years I had mine, but anything above 16,000rpm still made me feel uncomfortable. Felt like the bike was going to explode.

Awhile back I saw was this huge guy riding a CT110. He probably weighed 110-120kg. Was hilarious.

>>13829843
45-46hp (crank) from the box, can get 50hp out of it if you REALLY try, but it isn't worth the money. 143kg (dry).

Is that exhaust whatever Screaming Demon became? I rode a friends CBR250RR with one of those psuedo-carbon screaming demon pipes. Sounded great if you were going WOT everywhere, sounded like a loud fart when cruising.

What year crossplane did you get? I got a 2007 R1 in the end, love it, but I do wonder how the crossplane would've been.

>>13829858
I know three other people who had CBR250RRs, two wanted R1s but never went ahead with it. Another bought that anniversary edition crossplane. The awesome looking red and white one.

>>13829841
>>13829860
What's the point of keytags? I don't have anything against them, but I've never really wanted one either.
>>
>>13829858
both are pretty cliche bikes. 250rr is the best lams bike imo. then its either an r1 or a gsxr. zx10r makes a possible third option.

probably been a few people who have followed us. wouldn't have done it differently.
>>
>>13829843
lol, not 50hp, these days lucky if yu had 40-45, and they were closer to 150kg and they'll be doing 0-100 in about 5-5.5 seconds

no need to over exaggerate numbers
>>
>>13829869
yeah the musarri was nuts. people thought i was absolutely flying through school zones at 40kmph haha. freeways it was a bit annoying.

ended up with a 2010 crossplane r1. had a 2012 wr450f for a year before my p's expired which taught me how to wheelie. happy with the '10.
>>
>>13829869

he said push it, i asked how fast if you ride it... straight over your head bro

never mentioned the 0-100 but.

still better than a cbr500r. all those restricted 650 twins that you can derestrict are stupid too. if you need to claim and they find out it was modified you're fucked.

I shit you not we had a iLoad in today with slotted rotors from DBA. so very likely it was the Kangaroo design. It will be in tommorow so I will take a photo of the racing spec iLoad.

please do.

I need them for reasons. australian reasons.

very misc that you are posting

what are you driving these days anyway?
>>

My imediate tip is burn it, but I did work for Holden for a few years so I can help with bloody Astras aswell.

Like go order a rocker cover gasket because its leaking...trust me. Also you need to be Harison Ford temple of doom style delicate when removing coil packs or your face will melt off right after the coils snap.

But if you have to go too a shop, it shouldn't take them longer than an hour.

>>
>>13829870
Sports bike to a bigger sports bike is pretty normal for sure. Litre bikes are nicer to ride around town than 600s in my opinion as well.

>>13829876
You can tune them up to 50, but it's more money than it's worth. You can get sub-5 if you're sending it right to the limiter and shifting perfectly. Otherwise yeah mid 5s. They aren't really about straight line performance though, they can carry great speed through corners.

>>13829890
I definitely preferred by Daishin to the Screaming Demon, but they both had their own vibes.

>>13829893
Right, got it. Just out of hospital so missed that.

Doing my first longish commute on the R1 tomorrow morning. Forty minute trip to work... far for Adelaide haha. Hopefully it stays comfy.

Its good fun, 90% orignal exterior. Engine has a 1000cc kit in it with all the standard big cams, big jets, big ports blah blah blah.
