The United States Navy currently has the world's largest fleet of nuclear powered aircraft carriers, composed of the Nimitz class and the upcoming Gerald R. Ford class supercarriers. As you may know these ships are crucial for the protection of our great nation. It may come to you as a surprise when I tell you that all 10 commissioned aircraft carriers are sitting in their home port. For the next week, not only will there be no U.S. Navy aircraft carriers in the Middle East, but there will be no American aircraft carriers deployed at sea anywhere else in the world, despite a host of worldwide threats facing the United States.

Is this a smart move?

"Dwight D Eisenhower" returned to home port in Norfolk VA (along with the "George Washington", "Harry S. Truman", "Abraham Lincoln", and the "George H. W. Bush")

"The Carl Vinson", and "Theodore Roosevelt" are sitting in San Diego California's port.

The "CVN-68 Nimitz" is sitting at Bremerton, Washington's port. Along with the "John C. Stennis".

And finally, the "Ronald Reagan" is at Yokosuka, Japan's port.

It's got nothing to do with smart or not, the carriers need maintenance. A couple have been working out at sea ignoring scheduled maintenance so they could continue running various campaigns. If they had stuck to the schedule, they'd have some out there. This is why America has so many carriers and why the 10/11 carrier gap is going to cause force projection problems while we wait for the FORD. Which was delayed again iirc
