Wasserman got a patronizing non-paying worthless position. Clinton opened herself up to criticisms for not just distancing herself from Wsserman, but she is playing the long game. The patronizing position is better than nothing.
Look at Gingrich he was politically dead in the 90s for his fuck ups but some how keeps clinging on to some power in the GOP.
