>Will merge AOL and Yahoo's American internet properties

http://www.wsj.com/articles/verizon-nears-deal-for-yahoos-internet-businesses-1469196219

>Verizon Communications Inc. is close to paying around $5 billion to buy Yahoo Inc. ’s core business, people familiar with the matter said, absorbing a company that helped usher in the internet age but surrendered most of the profits to later entrants like Google and Facebook Inc.

>Verizon, long considered the most likely buyer since Yahoo put its search engine and web properties on the market, could reach a deal to buy the company in the coming days, the people said.

>Other bidders that had joined the auction of Yahoo could re-emerge, and an agreement with Verizon isn’t guaranteed, two of the people cautioned.

>“In order to maintain the integrity of the process, we won’t be commenting until an agreement is finalized,” a Yahoo spokeswoman said.
...
>Verizon, with a market cap of about $228 billion, has the means to purchase Yahoo’s Web assets and a logical blueprint for folding them into its fledgling digital media business, which includes AOL properties it acquired last year for $4.4 billion. The talks cover Yahoo’s portal, search engine and properties like Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Sports and the Tumblr blogging service that attract tens of millions of visitors a month.

Wow, as if 'A yahoo spokeswoman' isn't vague enough. Was she a Yahoo janitor? Was she the CEO of Yahoo?

Who are these random people they're talking to?

But those are one in the same.

LOL'd. Which brings me to my next point:
Verizon, a company having trouble keeping their top-tier image out of the mud, is buying a forgotten website that literally no one uses for 5 billion.

They are obtaining a worthless name, 5 dusty Dell servers from around 2003, a 2000 square foot office in downtown Detroit (the bad part), a water cooler and Hosé, the snappy but reliable maintenance guy who has 5 kids in a single room apartment.

What are they expecting to get from Yahoo? They don't have anything to offer internet users nowadays besides free email, and their apps suck, attachment size limits suck, and ads suck.

Literally Tumblr. From the article:
>The talks cover Yahoo’s portal, search engine and properties like Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Sports and the Tumblr blogging service that attract tens of millions of visitors a month.

the deal has been made

Why not spend that 5B$ to increase FIOS coverage?
>>
Isn't that blonde bitch supposed to be in charge of Yahoo!?
Presumably selling off the company means she isn't doing too well.

>that blonde bitch
>in charge of Yahoo
>she isn't doing to well
Yes she is still in charge and no she will not be there much longer.

I expect that Tumblr will become even more of a censored "family-friendly" hellhole under Verizon

>they're gonna censor my cartoon porn blogs even more.

Just about done

I'd love to fuck Marissa Mayer. Her pretty little face. A desperate woman put in charge of a company she can't handle; feeling so womanly and pathetic and small as I fuck her roughly from behind; she knows that this is her true place: on her knees on my bed taking a mean fucking, doggystyle, I pull her hair. Those moments are raw savage fucking would be her medicine, her lifeline. And then she has to go back to the world she hates; her job as boss of Yahoo! ... knowing that she is incompetent and pathetic; scared and tired and wanting to be back in bed with a cock ejaculating into her mouth.
