How it resists this change, we're not certain, but it does appear to have something to do with how we all *think* or *perceive* something TOGETHER.

If we think CNN is fake news, as some would have us believe, then all of a sudden we have people making fake news. If we believe that our elections were rigged, well, then we make space for our elections to be rigged. If we all think we can continue to divide ourselves on views posted in a fucking internet forum, well, then we'll all continue to divide ourselves.

If tomorrow, an alien race rolled up on us and threatened our existence, our petty quarreling (and exploitation of each other via trolling and controlling the conversation) would come to an end pretty quickly in our desire to continue existence as humans.

Yet, here we sit with the very real possibility that alien has already rolled up on us, caused us to create the internet, caused us to argue and make divisive comments such that it may grow and proper on its own in the form of technology addiction.
