Hi. Welcome to /news/! /news/ is a board for sharing and discussing relevant, topical news articles. Typically, when one posts a link to an article, they accompany that with either a summary or the complete text of the article, so that readers on /news/ don't have to click on external links or provide a website with ad revenue/ web traffic.
Thanks for posting on /news/! I hope you enjoy your stay.

No one has ever gotten the Clinton emails that we know of.
>>
>>153230
in other words people on news are too lazy to click a link
>>

The summary was in the thread title jackass. People really need to stop posting this every time someone doesn't decide to spend 20 posts copy out the entire article.

It's confirmed that they took the data from the DNC and DCCC and that this information was used by Republican operatives in both the presidential election and state and local elections. The emails are besides the point.
>>
This issue is getting way too little attention. Russians didn't just help Trump, they helped all Republicans. Here is another verified incidence of GOP operatives contacting the Russian hackers looking for data, then receiving that data from the Russians and using it to flip a democratic seat.

>It's confirmed that they took the data from the DNC and DCCC
By who? The CIA?

>this information was used by Republican operatives in both the presidential election and state and local elections.
It was used by everyone that wasn't a Democrat. A highly credible independent organization released the information.

>The emails are besides the point.
This does more to show the Republican's, particularly the Trump campaign, did NOT have access or back-channels to Russian intelligence, or that they were being groomed or blackmailed by the Kremlin. If they had to go seeking to BUY information that the Russians didn't actually have, or didn't hand over immediately to secure an early Trump win, what does that mean to the "Trump is Vladdy's puppet" narrative?

Give even a single reason to believe Guccifer 2.0 was Russian. Or that he was related to the DNC leak. This is the dumbest shit I've ever read.

This also isn't any more of a concern than the leak of the Trump pussygrab tapes. Opposition research is done by everyone during an election.

This guy is only tangentially related to the campaign and this incident doesn't anything, I'll agree with that much. The campaign would have known that the Russians never hacked Hillary's emails if they were colluding with them. Since the emails were never hacked, some GOP operative asking the Russians for them is besides the point. The bigger issue is the DNC and DCCC hacks which did happen and the information was released to the public and also directly from the hackers to GOP operatives. The real scandal is that Republicans in the government knew that this information was obtained by the Russian hacks and chose not to say anything and use the data to win.

If you remember, this exchange was recorded way back on June 15th of last year:

>McCarthy [referring to DNC hacking]:“I’ll guarantee you that’s what it is...The Russians hacked the DNC and got the opp [opposition] research that they had on Trump.”

>Ryan: “The Russians hacked the DNC...

>McHenry: “...to get oppo...”

>Ryan: “On Trump and like delivered it to...to who?”

>McCarthy: “There’s... there’s two people, I think, Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump...[laughter]...Swear to God.”

>Ryan: “This is an off the record...[laughter]...No leaks...[laughter]...alright?!. This is how we know we’re a real family here.”

>Scalise: “That’s how you know that we’re tight.”

>[laughter]

>Ryan: “What’s said in the family stays in the family.”

Despite this, they kept claiming to know nothing about Russia's involvement in the hacks and went ahead and used the information anyway. Most people still have no idea that the Republicans were using all this data the Russians gave them.

Dumb fucking liberals

Went wouldn't they use this information to their advantage.

The Democrats were factually colluding within their own party and with Russia by shillery

Comey was literally committing a felony by leaking information just over a month ago, but the GOP somehow can't use "hacked" information.

Liberalism is a mental disorder

The ones that got opposition research on Trump was Gucci, who made it a point to not only purposely stain everything with Russian markings, but also went out of his way to reach out to every right wing whackjob through Twitter all on his own. The guy had chat sex with Robbin Young in near perfect English, but all of a sudden doesn't know how to use articles when speaking to the media. He used the name of the first head of the KGB as an author on the files he released. He got files created AFTER the date CrowdStrike supposedly removed the hackers and malware from DNC servers.

To believe that Russians were behind the Trump oppo leak based on the initial "evidence" would be retarded. To have believed it even then requires the technical retardation of a Congressman. The release of op research, by the way, actually only hurt Trump.

Gucci2 also sought most of the people he communicated with out himself. Most weren't contacting him.

In other word you are a dumb piece of shit too lazy to read and understand a simple comment.
