We should never assign blame to populations, i.e. muslims, nationalists, supremacists, &c. for the actions of a subset of them.
We should always blame individuals that directly support violence (killing or arming murderers so that they murder) and we should blame violent ideas like Islam and white-supremacy.
It doesn't matter how many terrorists there are on either side.
Only exception would be if a group becomes such an existential threat that the rest of us literally are under immediate risk. Then we can't afford to make those distinctions because they're about to come under control of a nuclear arsenal or something and use it to cause Armageddon.

It's hard to say anymore. If conservatives march our planet off a cliff with respect to runaway climate change, there's a strong argument to be made that our civilization would be better off with liberalism even if the culture changed beyond recognition. Humans aside, the planet and living things as a whole would certainly have less suffering visited upon them as a consequence.
It didn't have to be this way and it wasn't for a time. But conservatives have accepted propagandists into their fold, decided apathy and denial of scientific consensus were fundamental values of our civilization. Western civilization was until relatively recently for me about as perfect as it gets, but if we're going to redefine it this way, it can join the ranks of the rest of the world's civilizations.
