Both accidental guns deaths and specifically, accidental child gun deaths have both been in decline since the late 80s / early 90s despite there being over 300 MILLION guns in the U.S. with more being bought every year;

The 2 year old was clearly witnessed holding the pistol, and once the police find the pistol Sanders tossed away trying to escape they'll settle the issue once and for all. This was most likely another sad, senseless accident caused by careless firearm use.
