EU closures would see an increase of boat traffic in an island-heavy region, making naval control more difficult. EU sanctions would see strong opposition by Germany due to trade. UK and US sanctions expected. All sanctions would mean stronger ties with Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. China would by happy with all outcomes, since they want Turkey's petroleum and coal to help supply their growing energy needs.
