Despite Trump Pledge, No Requirement for U.S. Steel in Keystone

>But exempting Keystone XL from the president’s requirement to use American steel would seem to fly in the face of Trump’s public comments. Trump has repeatedly boasted that he forced pipeline companies to agree to use U.S. steel in their projects.

So people who read the EO know that requiring US steel is just for new pipelines but Trump was imprecise with his words and suggested it applied to the keystone some of the time he spoke about it? How long are people going to bash him for not being 100% on script and being imprecise some of the time? He implied it was for new pipelines in one of the quotes given and suggested it applied to the keystone in another, so it's obvious he's just speaking imprecisely.

Wow thanks. We have different interpretations of what he's saying, is that so hard for you to understand? The EO talking about requiring US steel is not even in effect yet, he ordered to be presented with a plan for that 180 days from when he implemented the EO. He's stated in the past that the keystone and dakota access pipelines will be subject to whatever negotiations they make with the companies not the requirement for US steel because that's not in effect yet.

For as long as he keeps signing executive orders. He's the president waving his power around like an idiot, deal with it.
