Right Wing Source: http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/rich-noyes/2017/03/02/tv-news-vs-president-trump-first-30-days

>A new American President is always a big story, but TV news is obsessed with the Trump administration — and not in a good way.

>In the first 30 days (January 20 to February 18), our analysts determined that the President and his team were the subject of 16 hours of coverage on just the Big Three evening newscasts. This equates to more than half (54%) of all of the news coverage during this period.

>While most new presidents enjoy a media honeymoon, the tone of Trump’s coverage was nearly as hostile (88% negative) as we found during last year's presidential campaign (91% negative).
>>
>>117729
>Our measure of media tone excludes soundbites from identified partisans, focusing instead on tallying the evaluative statements made by reporters and the non-partisan talking heads (experts and average citizens) included in their stories. In their coverage of Trump’s first month, the networks crowded their stories with quotes from citizens angry about many of his policies, while providing relatively little airtime to Trump supporters.

>And the networks’ anchors and reporters often injected their own anti-Trump editorial tone into the coverage. “It has been a busy day for presidential statements divorced from reality,” CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley snidely began his February 6 broadcast.

>“Instead of working to clarify or backtrack on President Trump’s false claims,” NBC’s Hallie Jackson scolded on the January 24 Nightly News, “today his press secretary instead tried to cement them.”
>>
>>117730
>The biggest controversy during President Trump’s first month in office was the temporary ban on immigration from seven countries compromised by Islamic terrorism (Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen). The three evening newscasts spent more than 3 hours (188 minutes) on this topic alone, accounting for about one-fifth of all of the Trump administration’s coverage.

>Network coverage provided a megaphone to those distressed by Trump’s action, with NBC’s Lester Holt on January 30 beginning his newscasts from “the Statue of Liberty, which for nearly 130 years has symbolized the welcome arms of a country of immigrants.” As for Trump’s temporary ban, Holt quoted anonymous “critics” who “call it a solution in search of a problem, and an unconstitutional and thinly-disguised ban on Muslims.”

>A range of other immigration initiatives (the border wall with Mexico, a crackdown on sanctuary cities and increased deportation of criminal illegal aliens) accounted for 62 minutes of network airtime. Most of this coverage was sympathetic to those newly at risk for deportation; for example, ABC’s Jim Avila, on February 11, cast it as a “stern warning to all 11 million undocumented living in the United States, most of them law-abiding and paying taxes and working, that they are no longer safe to stay here.”
>>
>>117732
>The networks spent a total of 49 minutes on the confirmation battles surrounding Trump’s Cabinet picks, with Education Secretary Betsy Devos garnering the most airtime (17 minutes), followed by Attorney General Jeff Sessions (10 minutes) and failed Labor Secretary nominee Andrew Puzder (7 minutes). Combined, the networks spent less than one-tenth as much coverage (just over four minutes) on Senate Democrats’ calculated strategy of obstructing the confirmation process.

>Further highlighting the hostile tone of these newscasts, nearly an hour of coverage (56 minutes) was given over to anti-Trump protests on various topics, with nearly one-fifth (82 out of 442) of the Trump stories or briefs aired during these 30 days including at least some discussion of an anti-Trump protest.

>In the summer of 2005, Media Research Center launched the NewsBusters, a website "dedicated to exposing & combating liberal media bias," in cooperation with Matthew Sheffield, a conservative blogger involved in the CBS Killian documents story. NewsBusters is styled as a rapid-response blog site that contains posts by MRC editors to selected stories in mass media.[22] Although the site is advertised chiefly as a conservative site, it frequently defends Neoconservatives as well.[23] Not only does the site highlight journalists it deems are liberally biased, but also non-journalists (writers, musicians, producers, scientists, etc.) who they perceive have liberal viewpoint.[24][25][26][27] In addition to conventional media outlets, NewsBusters has attacked Wikipedia over perceived liberal bias in its John Edwards discussion pages.[28] At the NewsBusters site, a semi-weekly mock newscast called NewsBusted parodies recent events. The NewsBusted programs are often uploaded to sites such as YouTube.[29]

>>
>>118337
it was powered by merchant princes and the birth of what could be called capitalism so not really. but only if you are talking about classical liberalism then yes, but that is a million light years away from modern 'progressive' 'liberalism' which is just the authoritarian left wing
>>
>>118350
I wonder when this meme started of people demanding help/handouts started.

If you can't pull yourself up, get an education, and become successful on your own, then you deserve failure. If we are a truly free society, then that means that we must have the liberty to not only succeed, but fail as well, and we should be allowed to reap the benifits of this in full (riches and popularity for success, scorn and even death for failure). Concepts such as community or greater good are just authoritarian abstractions to take away liberty.

authoritarian is a process. Liberalism defines a goal. bitch all you want about "political correctness", but liberalism is still about saving your fat ass from people who would gleefully keep you ignorant, impoverished, and sedentary
>>
>>118374
I bet that meme came about in the South, with racist whites bitching about blacks. Human beings are industrious. even the most vicious criminal is still a hard working, ambitious human being. albeit, one with no morals, but the same could be said about the current President.

the problem with pure capitalism is that people who start with more have a bigger leg up on people who start with less. just having a bigger vocabulary coming into kindergarden can set you apart from your peers, for the rest of your life. I am sorry, but two people espouse pure Darwinian social structures: those too ignorant to know how badly they are being fucked, and those doing the fucking.

there is a reason for laws limiting the sleezy shit businesses are allowed to do. there is a reason for government regulations and auditors and tax-funded police
>>
>>118374
how is a poor person collecting unemployment, different from a billionaire asking Congress for more tax breaks? Why is one a handout, and another isn't
>>
>>117729
this is hardly surprising. think about it, the last time the news just whole-heartedly swollowed whatever the President fed them was Bush, in the months leading up to the Iraq war. Major news outlets were instrumental in convincing the public that Saddam Hussein was working with Osama Bin Laden, and had weapons of mass destruction aimed at the US. both COMPLETE LIES.

fast forward to Michael Brown's death and the Furgeson protests. this was a local story, despite fitting in neatly with a larger narrative about police brutality, with pretty sketchy details. but, the media plucked it out of social media obscurity and blew it the fuck up. They MADE Black Lives Matter, because without a massive media presence, the stories of those isolated events across the country would not have been connected into this appearance of an epidemic of murderous cops and systematic injustice
>>
>>118418
Back on /pol/, prior to the election, there was OBVIOUS evidence of pro-Trump shilling...the exact same pro-Trump posts were being posted in the same thread, under different ID's. Which means either coordinated shilling, or some faggot using proxies to spam the thread.
>>
>>118328
You've never heard of MRC before? They're like the rightwing version of media matters, except they are a decade older. Newsbusters is just one of their many fake news blogs.
>>
>>118427
so, take these two incidents and put them together: First, the news media learns that they can be suckered, and that what they print can destroy nations and get hundreds, even thousands, of Americans killed. the world would be a VASTLY different place if Dubya had never gotten his little military adventure in the desert.

the second lesson reinforces the first, but in a proactive direction: given the right circumstances, journalists CAN whip something small into a massive shitstorm. the Michael Brown case was a mess, but what about Tamir Rice, Eric Garner, or any of the dozens of black men and women who were outright murdered by cops? The media had found their place and purpose.

now, we have a President who rose to power by taking cable news' reliance on ratings and using it against his opponents. Trump is a showman and a complete sociopath. He lies when it suits him, he lies when it does not. he lies when it makes no difference at all, and simply staying quiet is perfectly fine.

the news media HATES liars. they learned not to trust the Powers That Be, and they learned that spitting in the face of power pays. Why would they be kind to an evil man who used their airtime, while calling them the worst names? especially (ESPECIALLY!!) when shitting on Trump sells?
>>

Trump will stop the immigration that allows democrats to keep with with conservative birth rates.

Trump will revamp the education system, ending the democrat propganda factory that passes for school. This is kindergarten through higher ed.

Trump will remind our culture that freedom of speech is essential to a functional society. Political correctness will die, and we will never stop calling you liberals out on your bullshit.

With the rise of internet media, the MSM cannot effectively control the narrative any longer.

Immegration is written into our national fabric. until you stupid conservatives give up on your fantasyland of factory jobs for everyone, and get a fucking education, any business larger than 5 people will continue importing engineers, designers, doctors, and such. if big corporations control the government, then immigration will continue.

Trump has said fuck all about the education system. Don't know where you are getting this from. If anything, his Secretary pick favors private schools. when you have to buy your education, the rich will get the best quality, and the poor will get shit.

Love that you bring up free speech, yet Trump shits on the news for being "fake". so, does he like free speech, or not? he must love it, because he is free to say whatever he wants, with zero facts to back it up, with zero consequence.

Internet news is a crippled gimp, compared to cable and print news. it takes money to get reporters out to find facts. it takes money to pay people to sift through documents, make phone calls, research facts, chase down leads. it takes money to reach massive audiences to get your words out there. It takes decades of honesty and integrity to command instant trust of the weakest and the most powerful. how many people have broadband internet? compared to how many with a radio or TV?

Conservatism is a decent political ideology. there is something to be said for checks on government and a well educated society that polices itself. social conservatism is a failure. racism, fear, religious dogma, and a willful blindness to the damage these things cause is what is killing social conservatism. and, it is killing itself. When a white kid grows up in school with blacks, latinos, and muslims, you are going to have a hard time convincing him that those people are lesser creatures and need to be kept out of the country.
>>
>>118453
what promises? I fail to see how he has accomplished anything. he did two actions: the Muslim ban, and unleashing ICE. One got slapped down by multiple judges, the other is getting terrible coverage on the news.
>>
>>118453
Bribing businesses with corporate welfare and state tax loopholes to hire token amounts of Americans isn't 'fulfilling promises'. Trump's greatest trick is the bait and switch he pulls to convince people like you that he's actually doing something good for the country and not the corporate interests which got him elected.
>>
>>118455
>Immegration is written into our national fabric. until you stupid conservatives give up on your fantasyland of factory jobs for everyone, and get a fucking education, any business larger than 5 people will continue importing engineers, designers, doctors, and such. if big corporations control the government, then immigration will continue.
Drain the swamp.

>Trump has said fuck all about the education system. Don't know where you are getting this from. If anything, his Secretary pick favors private schools. when you have to buy your education, the rich will get the best quality, and the poor will get shit.
False. He supports school choice, meaning what I said will occur. Bannon also has said he has plans for the education system. That has to be good.

>Love that you bring up free speech, yet Trump shits on the news for being "fake". so, does he like free speech, or not? he must love it, because he is free to say whatever he wants, with zero facts to back it up, with zero consequence.
Don't be retarded.

>Internet news is a crippled gimp, compared to cable and print news. it takes money to get reporters out to find facts. it takes money to pay people to sift through documents, make phone calls, research facts, chase down leads. it takes money to reach massive audiences to get your words out there. I can't take these empty accusations seriously anymore.
>>
>>118465
Face it, you just wanted to kill off those lefties that been ruining your views of America.
>>
>>118462
do you know what the term "school choice" means? it means more private schools. that's like abortion advocates saying they are "pro-choice".

so, the government funds private schools. nevermind the government giving handouts to private companies... parents with money will send their kids to private schools. public schools won't get as much money, because they won't have as many kids. unless communities continue to tax parents who are also paying to put their kids into private schools. which is fucking cruel.

anyway, less money means fewer quality teachers (teachers want to eat, too) lower quality tools and facilities, and ultimately worse education for public school kids.

suddenly, you have social Darwinism, where the wealthy grab advantages the poor don't even see, let alone are able to reach, and the poor just get poorer.
>>
>>118374
Trump started with a million dollar loan, has gone bankrupt multiple times and received billions in government bailouts
>>
>>118475
school choice allows poor people to attend great schools out of their area by incentivizing schools to let kids with good grades attend even if they are poor because a higher school rating means more money.
>>
>>118462
drain the swamp of what? the big money donors Trump has places in his Cabinet? his Secretary of State is a fucking oil CEO!

more to your point, these corporations are the engines driving American growth, innovation and prosperity. go visit Silicon Valley. lot of people with funny last names, out there. go to any hospital. even more brown and Asian people with funny last names. our nation is first in the world, because of these hard working people. don't like it? quit jerking off in your mom's basement (metaphorically speaking.) and go get an engineering degree.
>>
>>118479
"even if they are poor"... you are talking about private schools, right? because public schools don't limit by how poor the kid is. only by where he lives.

There have been articles on how Trump is the medias heroin. They have been using his antics for great ratings and explosive headlines but theyve been needing to ramp up the crazy shit they claim since, compared to a year ago, its much tamer now.

Speculation from an amateur? The media is starting to burn out. Ratings and trust in MSM news have been going down for months. Nothing is going to March the highs of grab em by the pussy and the initial wall announcement.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/195542/americans-trust-mass-media-sinks-new-low.aspx for trust

how about the 3m illegal immigrants who voted for Hillary? wait... Trump pulled that out of his ass
how about the terrorist attacks in Bowling Green and Sweden?
or Hillary Clinton laughing about child rape?

how abot that time "Greatest businessman EVAR" Donald Trump lost 980,000,000 dollars in a single year, claimed bankruptcy, and used the loss to avoid paying taxes for a decade?
wait, the liberal media DID report on that one! turns out, it was true!
>>
>>118873
hillary clinton did effectively laugh at child rape.

see: that time she got off a guilty rapist by accusing the young girl of seeking out older men then conspired to have her fail the polygraph then laughed about it.

just so you know, malmo is a warzone so that's not a lie either.
>>
>>118873
>how about the terrorist attacks in Bowling Green
There were 2 terrorists caught in Bowling Green. They used IED's that killed soldiers in Iraq.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowling_Green_massacre
>Before entering the U.S., both had used improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Iraq,[4] although this had not been known at the time of their admission to the United States. The men both pleaded guilty; one is serving a life sentence while the other is serving 40 years in federal prison

Does the used on improvised explosives constitute a "massacre"? These people attacked out soldiers

>http://heavy.com/news/2017/02/bowling-green-massacre-plot-iraqi-refugees-kellyanne-conway-trump-video-waad-ramadan-alwan-terrorists-terrorism-kentucky-al-qaeda-iraq-mohanad-shareef-hammadi/

>Both Men Admitted to Trying to Harm U.S. Soldiers in Iraq & Hammadi Participated in a Dozen Attacks

It's been disgusting to watch you liberals make jokes about this. You don't give a shit about our soldiers, or terrorism.

These people have KILLED with their own hands and you make jokes about fucking Kellyanne Conway misspeaking.

You make me sick.

>>
>>118938

She referred to the "Bowling Green Massacre" in three separate interviews.

It wasn't a misstatement, it was a lie that was intended to mislead just like every other sentence from this administration.

I don't doubt that Iraqis have used IED in Iraq, but they never attempted a terrorist attack in the US, that's a lie, it's not OK to say someone used an IED in the US and that's the same as supplying IED to terrorists in Iraq, because they're not the same thing.

Like when Trump said, "this was the biggest electoral victory in years" or whatever.

It doesn't really matter. But the anti-Trump people and the media go bananas. It makes them look retarded, which may be the point.

This is what the media has reduce communication to. If they weren't so hostile and dishonest, he could treat them like adults. But they're evil children, who deserved to be teased and ridiculed. I am loving it.

Fox is just another shitty propaganda outlet (with actual stories buried in them if you aren't a fucking idiot and can see it with any news network), stop presenting the #1 cable network bit as if it's something we should be wow'd for. Literally a "wtf i love Fox News now" moment here.
>>
>>120188
I stick my neck out for FOX News because they are the most honest media out there.

The other MSM and tv channels collectively denigrage FOX as if they're especially bad. Obama even tried to ban them, which is a total joke. CNN is the one that gets caught faking news.

They must be doing something right to alienate those animals.
>>
>>120190
Most honest media on television, I meant.
>>
>>120190
>Obama even tried to ban them,
Wasn't it a scolded about being honest more than a straight up ban attempt?
>>
>>117729

News journalism is fucking *supposed* to criticize the establishment. That's what they *do*. Pro-establishment media is done by the subject itself, and reporters do investigative follow-ups of various depth before publishing.

So yes, any follow-up statements the press will make will be critical, thus either neutral or negative unless compared to something else.
>>
>>120190
Fox may be honest but most of the time the have no idea wth they are talking about
>>
>>120190
>because they are the most honest media out there
Wher do you people get this from? They've been shown time and again to lie more than any other outlet. People who watch only FoxNews were found to know less about what's going on in the world than people who don't watch any news at all.

That's still Obama singling out FOX as if they're especially bad.

Fucking BUZZFEED doesn't get treated that way. Not until President Trump came along.

Sad really, that you picked so poorly.

My guy won. That's a poor choice? Lmao

>>121617
>You could have shilled for anyone except Yeb and picked a leader for the GOP capable of beating Hillary.
>Sad really, that you picked so poorly.

The primaries were too crowded, and resistance to Trump never really manifested behind one candidate. Trump never had the majority of the votes in the primary, just the most. Had the primary had runnoff voting, then Trump likely would not have won. Its rare to have so many candidates on equal footing to one another. Unlike European models, we usually have only two feasible choices in both the primary and general election.

>>121622
The only person that was competitive against Trump was Hillary. They were both two of the most unliked candidates in the history of our country, both pretty bottom of the barrel. Had the Democrats nominated somebody else to run against Trump, or the Republicans done the same against Hillary, then it would have been a landslide for them. The other party wouldn't have shown up to back their candidate, and they would have swept it. Its telling that the best argument either Trump or Hillary had was the other's terribleness.
>>
>>121624
Trump would have won even if Bernjew Cuckders had ran. Trump would have won because the country is sick of liberal bullshit, and wants to kick all of you out. You just can't get over the fact that America hates you, and wants to glass all of you """people""" in your cities.

This is literally the only reason anybody supports Trump. You are a newfag who missed out on early 4chan trolling and now wants to feel like you're a bigger part of something, only the bigger part of something that you desperately want to be a part of is going to make your life objectively worse in the coming years unless you earn over 100k a year.

You feel as though you're winning vicariously through Trump when he does whatever the fuck he wants, but, to everyone with half a brain, it's like seeing a child throw shitty diapers around and then watch with satisfaction as everyone else has to clean up after him.

You know you've been had. You know there are no arguments left to support him. Deep down in your lizard brain, you're not a complete idiot. You know Trump fucked you good and hard, but you have absolutely no idea how to deal with it like a responsible adult. You can't admit you're wrong and then focus on rebuilding. You're gonna ride out "m-muh libtears" until kingdom come, even when you're buried in the same ditch as the working poor (see: future of the middle class under this administration.)
>>

Said literally no one ever. We're not Europe. Even at our most liberal height, we will never have an open borders policy. Inequality will always exist, but the income gap should not be what it is. You justify the wealthy patting themselves on the back with billion dollar raises and tax cuts and then spit on the poor and working class for daring to dream of their children not dying of maggots. You can be compassionate without bending over backwards, but you are an unapologetic cuck for the establishment, and your boy's Donny everything he promised to destroy.

>>
>>122918

Absolutely they do. I don't think it's right for them to be stripped of everything they have. They worked harder than we did (sometimes) to get to where they are now. They deserve to live on a different level, but absolutely not to that extent. Not when corporations are treated like people and the wealthy CONTINUE to amass wealth for themselves solely because of that mentality you just mentioned. Right now, the playing field is leveled entirely in favor of crony capitalism, and it is going to continue in that direction under Trump, based solely on his cabinet picks.

Better question is what are you on? He lost the popular by a considerable margin. He won by systematically campaging in neglected states and giving a damn.

Although how much he lost by may have been different depending on if absentee/military votes are counted.

>>
>>123539
So what you're saying is that he won because he's better than everyone else?
>>
>>123593
More because everyone else was well used shit that we all knew what they would do.

However his choices of where to campaign and winning of the primary cannot be denied to be a display of the skill he and his team had. After all, if you lose a basketball game because you picked nothing but guys who can only dunk while the opponent goes with people who can score from the 3 point line every time, who is to blame?

USAnons should really ask themselves:"did I vote for Trump, did my neighborhood voted for Trump, my friends, family, gf,bf,boss, coworkers etc.."
Obviously majority of US citizens don't like him, someone did had to give that person votes needed.
If no one in your vicinity didn't vote for him, then its obvious something is not right.
You can't blame everything on southerners and Florida.
Just ask people around yourself who they vote for and let them ask their circle,
if you manage to pull around 1000 answers and you get some 80% against Trump, that's not statistical error, something really shady going on.

He(Donald) did not pulled Bush Jr. but before elections loud minority (proClinton)was really not minority, but majority, from entertainment world, over serious intellectual elite,
all the way to blue collar & probably 99% of legal immigrants.
Someone had to give him the votes.

Many would not admit openly to supporting trump due to the inevitable negative reaction from peers who cannot fathom that the west isn't ideologically uniform like North Korea. I for one find autistic screeching to be music to my ears. Praise kek and long live the god emperor!

>>122912
>there are no arguments to support
Curbing immigration, incentives for those working in the fossil fuel industry, increase in military spending. You can make the argument that the cons will outweigh the pros, but to say there are no reasons to support him, and to strawman one reason to support him, is patently false.
>>
>>123727
He's making the erroneous assumption that just because people don't like Trump, and he wins, means that the election may have been rigged. It's kinda like the whole "3 million people voted illegally but I can't prove it" or "Russia hacked the elections but I can't prove it".

I hate Assange because of his infantile views on diplomacy, but his organization is sort of a necessary evil.
