It first appeared in 2016 on a fringe website - a site that is the very definition of fake news.
Not fake news as Trump asserts of everyone he dislikes - but a site that deliberately publishes a story knowing it is false and is intended to deceive.
On May 6, 2016 a 42 yo man was found shot in the head close to Pier 40 in NYC.
He was taken to a hospital and declared dead. The police announced that no criminality was suspected (read suicide). There was no note.
