Maybe in inland Texas. Sydney is on the coast though and the ocean moderates temperature. Compare it to Houston for example where the hottest temperature ever recorded is 42 C. Parts of Sydney have recorded those temps today and some inland parts of NSW today have reached 45 C

Now THAT's summer, I'd rather have that kind of a heatwave than this shit Melb <20 degree weather during summer. Cold temps last far too many months I reckon and I feel like it'll just be worse this year. Not even Springs and early Summers are pleasant, they're virtually still Winter-recovery periods where everyone gets hayfevers after colds.

I used to live in a small town that was frequently 45c, but was around 30% or so humidity. Where I live now is typically around 35c, but at 100% humidity, and it feels so much more unbearable. I'll pick living in 45c 30% any day.
