That doesn't matter, the law was applied to all locomotives, unless there were some exemptions granted for small shortlines.
>>1002997
I think you'd best take a look at the couplers, then think about how big a person is compared to the locomotive, then look at the filename.
Finally, train stuff.
Last I heard, the locomotive you see is/was for sale at 40k (usd) in Maine. 24ng locomotive with 3 rolling stock, including caboose, ballast car, and a flatbed with a derrick crane.

it's not a commuter train, which in Queensland are electrified. it's a long distance service that runs up the coast between Brisbane and Cairns, a distance of 1,681km.
Penn Central should have adopted this paint scheme for all of its locomotives.

I've never seen a class 20 in real life. I have heard one going past while I was in bed as I live near a railway, but apart from that I've only seen 66s, 59s and more fucking 66s.
>>1034751
Yes, they will also put locomotives in the middle of the train. All controlled from the lead locomotive.
>>1035357
Maybe because later they will split apart and they don't want to have problems with organizing the locomotives. They just split up and so.
>>1035255
It's only because of a design flaw though. Don't see anything else being ran double headed on a regular basis. Occasionally some 66s or others on stock relocation, but that's about it.
Don't see the point of class 20s any more though, they're beyond a relic class that should have been scrapped decades ago why do DRS still cling onto them?
>>1035273
>live by railway, but only ever see 66s
>fuckingnormietrainsreeeee.jpeg
I love living in a town with a mainline going through it. See loads of variety. Used to live five minutes walk away with a long stretch of park along it and just sit back and watch trains while the dogs exercised themselves.
That said, only ever seen a 20 irl this one time with nuclear flasks. Surprisingly good place for seeing rare trains though if you went out there late at night. Never see 60s around this area though which pisses me off, can see most trains here, just not my favourite class reeeee.
>>1035490
>It's only because of a design flaw though
Double heading 20's is nothing to do with design flaws. 20's are precisely as designed; Type 1, single-ended Bo-Bo locomotives.
It just turned out that they were reliable and useful locomotives, build in large numbers, that could be used on heavier loads by double-heading. We don't do more of it in the UK because the 20's are the only remaining Type 1 loco's (and we don't have any Type 2's any more, either)
>>1035458
No, that's not the reason. The reason is for train handling and practical reasons. I've seen 14,000 ft. double stack trains. There's no way it would maintain radio communication for the full length, so they put it in the middle where it won't be an issue
>>1035499
Oh, I thought it was only the case because they only had one cab. I've seen video of them single running but assumed regulations had changed since then or something because I've never seen one run that way in the post-BR era.
>>1036820
How do you feel about the new locomotives? Personally I love the design
Montreal's AMT's latest, the ALP-45DP. Not bad for an org that used to run F40PH in a knockoff Phase III scheme
USA: Successful track record in designing the most ugly locomotives physically possible.
>>1037170

9647 and 9597 are two different paint schemes.
9647 is BNSF merger.
9597 is BNSF Executive.
About June 2013 9647 was painted to the orange and black (phase 3) scheme.
