Guys, is this a good first road bike?

+ Complete 105 11-SPD (save for the Tiagra hubs)
+ It's blue
+ It's $925 / 825€
- Heavy as fuck rims (Remerx Taurus 550 g) and tires (Nitro 2 360 g)
- Frame quality???
I've been looking at other bikes from more reputable companies (Specialized, Canyon, Radon, Trek, Merida, CUBE, etc.) in this price range but they usually come equipped with Claris, Sora, rarely Tiagra and come with off-brand brakes. Yes, the CTM is just a rebranded Taiwanese alloy frame, but it looks nice, has a tapered fork, threaded BB and modern geo. I can save 300 g on the tires right away and the wheels I can change next year or something if I so desire. What do /n/omads think? Is this a good deal?
Try Fuji. You can get set up with full 105 for a little less and they're great bikes Imo. Or just buy that one and ride the shit out of it. Looks cool AF.

try planetX bikes some of them are fairly cheap and have built to order bikes, or even rose bikes as then you can spec it to how you want.
There's only one problem; it doesn't have flat bars!
Seriously, just buy the bloody thing. There's nothing wrong with it.

I don't think I can get Fuji in my country (Czech Rep). I've looked but almost nobody has them and if they do the range is extremely limited.

I've looked at them. The alloy RT-58 looks nice, but with a 105 kit similar to the CTM plus shipping it would cost over 900€. Plus I can't try the size before ordering. I've also looked at the carbon models but they would cost +40% over the CTM and that's way over my budget.

Thanks. It's a top contender at the moment.
There's just the issue of picking the right size. I'm torn between the 540 and 560 (pic related).
Some of my friends say to go with the 540 and use a longer stem (it ships with 110). Apparently, smaller frames + longer stems are hip right now. The Competitivecyclist calculator isn't of much help as I'm sitting between the two sizes. I used the Eddy Fit. Could more experienced riders shed some light on this issue?
if youre in between, go down. You can make any smaller bike fit you but too big will just be too big. Plus, you want to be hip, dont you?

For my first ever road bike, I got a Fuji S-10S for graduating high school in 1976. It cost $220 back then. I still have it.
I wouldn't worry about the heavy as fuck wheels. Heavy usually means durable. Ride the fuck out of that shit.
