The "mods" were a rerouted air intake and less restrictive air filter ($6), better spark plug ($12), and modified the carb so it is adjustable now ($0). I get a 5% increase in mileage, (up to ~100mpg now) and it accelerates noticeably quicker.

About 2k miles so far, no real problems. The stock spark plug was shit(some misfires and incomplete burns) so replaced that. Only other issue is that the wiring for the headlights rubbed part of the frame and rattled at speed... Fixed that with a zip tie.

these are all good questions, it depends where you live how scooters /mopeds/ motorcycles are classified

some jurisdictions you dont need license some you do but only if it goes a certain speed

some scooters can be classified as going less speed based on the CC's but then people modify them to add CC's etc just like a race car or a grams bike

depending where u live cops will fuck with u more or less depending, for example i live in NYC

electric bicycles cops dont give a shit about even though theyre illegal, but as soon as you got a license plate theyre giving u tickets left and right

thing is electric bicycles dont go too fast, and dont have license plates most people on a vehicle on the road hate these guys but cant do really much about em, once you get on a motorcycle and u dont have a license plate, cops WILL chase you at gun point and take you in depending how fast your bike can go, thats why people with no plates ride around in gangs and some are strapped the cops claim theyre looking for guns but really theyre just looking for people to bust and shit then they destroy their bikes
