Just like the NR750 and it's oval piston v4. It's honda engineering doing something just to prove that they can.

Why does every Honda have a big ass wing on the back. F'n ricer
>>
>>987948
>just because they can.

that is what the Japanese do best.

Toyota didn't need to make the LFA out of Carbon Fiber. They had already fully developed the car in Aluminum. Toyoda-san just went, FUCK IT! So they did it all over again in Carbon Fiber. Which meant they had to make their own world's first carbon fiber loom.

At long last, a production Honda with a big wing that actually works

as an A&P i think its pretty nice, completely composite dont have to worry about cancer corrosion but of course it has composite problems you have to deal with but not bad.

Being composite you can have lower cabin altitudes so you dont feel like shit after a flight.

It has a very high service ceiling so you can fly faster.

The engines are pretty simple to and they are backed by general electric which is a plus will make parts relatively cheaper.

It easts less gas then its competitors and flys sanic.

>It’s a dream his predecessors had quietly and carefully tended since founder Soichiro Honda spoke of his ambition to build an aircraft in the early 1960s.

Yeah dude, seems like they are doing it just to show off.

The only thing I dislike about this airplane is how the avionics software is proprietary.

Why can't Japs handle freedom?

why does japanese use so many english words in their everyday talk? not talking about very specific technical words like avionic or touchscreen, but terms like business, engine, toiletto papa or table. don't they have a word for table?
>>
I worked at the place that fabs the fuselage, pretty cool stuff.
>>
>>989182
Two reasons: English is the international language of commerce and technology, and culturally, using the global language is a sign of sophistication and urbanity.

The use of the word "table" in the video is an example of the first: what they're referring to here is not a common table (卓) that you'd find in a dining room, it's a complicated folding platform that tucks in the wall of an airplane - so linguistically there's a need to differentiate it. Using the loanword "table" is much simpler and effective than coming up with a equivalent technical term that would be something long and complicated like "aircraft-interior-wall-folding-卓".

Words like "business" are commonly used in Japan because they're prestige loan words. Note that this not unique to Japan, it's not uncommon to hear French and German speakers bemoan how many English terms have become part of their regular speech. It's also worth noting that 150 years ago French was the international prestige language, and English-speakers used French loanwords when they wanted to sound sophisticated - and in some cases we still do ("chaffeur" is more polite than "driver", you might be asked to "RSVP" to a wedding party, or order an "entree" at a restaurant).

ok, thank you, i get it.
i'm from argentina and we have lots of english loan words too, specially in some specific niches. like football (soccer?) because of it's english origin, or business where words like "marketing" are almost universal now.
and yeah, some shallow people may find kind of sophisticated to throw english words every 3 spanish ones, but using toilet paper instead of the local words sounds pretty strange to me.

awesome plane, by the way. that bulgy undernose though...
