Stainless is still susceptible to galvanic corrosion when in contact with aluminum components. If anything, aluminum is the way to go.

stainless steel is difficult to weld so it has a high price, it is more rigid than chromoly so it can be used in thinner tubes, but it will crack/break rather than bend compared to chromoly. Stainless is just an oddity for steel is real weight weenies with money to burn

Mate you have to realize that Aluminum is the master race of metals. We use this shit in airplanes for a reason.

The reason almost all of the road bikes in the 80s and late 90s were steel? Because we were still trying to git gud with aluminum. It's also why tennis rackets were made out of steel for a little while too.

But then in the late 90s and early 2000s we realized something. Aluminum is fucking great. Easy to recycle, just as strong if not stronger than steel, while also being way lighter. Bicycles, just like tennis rackets are made out of aluminium now for a good reason. Nobody wants to ride a heavy ass steel bicycle just like nobody wants to swing around a heavy ass tennis racket.

Nobody is calling you a faggot for liking steel. Steel is cool too. It's just that it's outdated, and it's pros, do not outweigh the cons when compared to aluminum.
