Yellow/White. Here's what it looked like when I first slapped it together for test riding (a friend gave me the frame plus a few parts). This photo is too bright and doesn't show much besides the main issue, which was a big dent and some rust on the top tube (rolled and filled this before PC), but all the paint was badly sun-faded, with some flaking and rust spots all around.

Also yes, this one was actually badged as a Novara bike originally, but aside from the decals it's the same bike as the much better known Centurion Ironman.

If the gearing isn't corrected to compensate for the smaller wheels then the smaller ones will have lower gearing. You can only go so small on the cassette/cog and you may not be able to get a large enough chainring (or have clearance issues with going larger, which I think that mini velo has) so the smaller wheeled bike might end up being slower.

This is also the reason why you'll see most 29" mountain bikes with tiny arse chainrings compared to 26",

You got it wrong. No point in running "near max pressure" because you won't go any faster because of it. Your bike is going to hop around a lot more, though, wasting energy and making your ride a lot more harsh. Go and check that tiredrop.pdf, I'm telling you. Also, it's not hard to get the saddle level with a microadjustable seatpost. In your case, it's shouldn't be hard too. Just have something level in the background behind a bike (like a window sill) and level the saddle to that object until both, the end and the tip are "touching" the object in the background.

Those three components aren't particularly worth while having in carbon, not only does it not save all that much weight there's increased risk of fucking something up from over tightening.

Doesn't really seem like much of a weight weenie build to me, would be fairly easy and cheap to save the same amount of weight those carbon bits would save you. Weird to see such new wheels, fork, and brakes on an old bike too.

Used to be my dad's "second bike", that I borrowed and eventually took ownership over - which I highly suspect might have been his plan all along. I'm not sure he ever actually used it. Frame was bought in 2005 iirc, at which point it was probably a decade removed from being a new model (basically found in a bargain bin as I understand it). Googles for the frame, Coppi Lugano 53 points to it probably being a mid-90s frame.

It was fitted with bits and pieces he had lying around at the time, so probably not much of it was ever 1995-appropriate. I've since replaced the fork, headset, crankset, cassette and rear dérailleur because the old bits wore out, so those are definitely not.

Honestly don't know the sizes and I'm too lazy to go measure right now. I'll check in tomorrow if the thread is still up.

The handlebar is the only egregious part here. You could hide the center section under bar tape. As it is, it is quite visually jarring. I otherwise like the bike. Looks to be converted from an old ten speed. No matter what fixie fags tell you, do NOT file off the cable guides and derailleur hanger (hangar?). Keep them in case you want to try going back to using gears.

Coaster brake is really nice and relaxing. Don't listen to that faggot about replacing the hub, just build a second wheel with a fixed hub and swap out whenever you are in the mood. Oh, and install some kind of front brake in case of an emergency. Ride safe out there!

I hate biking on Pierce Butler with all the semi trucks barreling down right next to me at 50 mph. The stretch east of Hamline is awful with the way the pavement heaved at regular intervals which makes it such an oddly bumpy ride.

I usually just get on that little stretch for a few blocks or less when I'm going west on University. I go north on that road past Menards, then west on Pierce Butler, cross the bridge over the railroads, then turn right on that minor road with the bike route sign. So I'm basically only on Pierce Butler for the length of the bridge. I've only ridden much farther than that on Pierce Butler once which was just to check out the road.

Early 2000s (?) Marinoni Crono TT frameset, going to run it as a roadie. Had Spinergy Carbon tubular wheels, and all 9-speed Dura Ace stuff, sold it on eBay for twice what I paid for the bike.

Finally done renovating it. With my 2 other road bikes didn't have much spare time and money. Put disk brakes instead of v-brakes, also whole new transmission and shit. Need to choose some tires for XC, maybe try to get into it. Right now considering Rocket Ron.

A quick google search yielded one result from instructables - they recommend using a drill press to punch the hole without slipping, then using a dremel to smooth out the edges to avoid cutting into the cable housing. It seems pretty doable.

I don't trust myself to do any of that in addition to cutting off the cable guide bosses on the top of the top tube and then repairing the painted finish.

Are you then going onto the U of M Transitway? Seems like an awful long detour to avoid biking on University Avenue. Pierce Butler could be so nice because it has a relatively wide bike lane and has zero stoplights or stop signs along it's length. The pavement east of Snelling just makes it not fun to ride on at any higher speed.

I took a look at the cable. The casing is broken near the end, theyve been on there for more than a couple years now and I did about 4k last year. I'll replace them soon.

If you don't mind spending some money and care enough about looks you could try a more angled stem placed higher up the steerer, match it to the head tube angle (90-HA=stem angle) to get it perfectly level and the bars will probably end up close to the same position.
