Do flying ships have a place in the future?

Shameless bump
>>
>>925038
Bump!

Why isn't anyone replying? All I see is bicycle threads, what the fuck?
>>
This is a slow board, /b/tard. Give it a couple of hours.
>>
>>925038
I have to think about this, give me a few days.
>>
>>925038
1. How is that thing staying up.
2. Idk most likely not.
>>
I believe flying ships will have a future in this world. I mean,we've done so many things, for example, people thought the B2 Spirit bomber was a alien spacecraft but I turned out to be a stealth bomber.

1. Probably some sort of helium-based lifting body within the hull

2. Agreed

>>925038
Nah, son.

It takes several days for a thread to 404 here, you need at most, one bump a day.

Skies of Arcadia ftw

Oh it's the ornithopter kid.

>1. Probably some sort of helium-based lifting body within the hull
Looks too dense for lift from helium to really amount to much, and using dynamic lift to make up the difference would require flying at several hundred miles per hour (which something as un-aerodynamic as that won't be). The only reasonable explanation is some kind of anti-gravity/repulsion system.
>>
I don't feel there's any chance. There'd need to be a completely revolutionary type of fuel that could sustain such a large craft in the air for such an extended period of time without having to constantly stop to refuel, and would need to be eco friendly to not destroy the atmosphere with the emissions of such a large flying cancer machine.

The future called, says it's too cold to fly boats, so no.

It's questionable if aeroplanes have a place in the future.

Blimptrain is the future buddy.
>>
>>928507
There is LITERALLY no reason not to build this. Wake up sheeple.
>>
>>928619
Oh, there are reasons. Good ones. Trust me, it'll be great. It's gonna be yuge.
>>
Large flying vehicles need to stay up. This requires either a tremendous amount of energy or an enormous volume of lighter-than-air gas which takes a tremendous amount of energy to push around.
>>
>>928786
Or a train.
>>
>>925038
No. No they don't. not in the atmosphere anyway.
Way too much downside if anything goes wrong
No upside if everything goes right

You will continue to be a ground based people

There exists only exactly one country on this planet which is capable of building proper flying ships!
