If I had to guess based on the the limited footage we have, that group doesn't have a very strong sense of unity. For debris that large and prominent, a good group culture would cause riders to know that they should be calling that shit out loudly.
In the original video, everybody seems so focused on not being dropped in this "intense" 30 mph section of their "time trial ride" that the only voices you hear are after the incident.

In what country is it illegal to cross a zebra on a bike? Many people believe it is in my country (SE), but it very much isn't. It might be in yours; I'm just saying it's a very common misconception.

It might be illegal to ride your bike on a "zebra" or crosswalk. It's definitely illegal to "double dip" in the sense that you take the best of both worlds: you can't ride a bike AND take the default right-of-way that pedestrians typically get. You can dismount and walk your bike and qualify as a pedestrian, but riding along you have to observe the road laws like any other participant on the roads (hence my inference that it's not legal to ride along a crosswalk)

I suspect your laws are similar to ours. A road marking (not sure this is the correct technical terms in english) does not alter the legan status of the stretch of road it's marked on. It just tells you something - in this case to yield to pedestrians under certain circumstances. You are otherwise allowed to drive/cycle/hovercraft/land airplanes on it in the same way as any other stretch of road.
You understanding that you are not afforded the right of way if you are not a pedestrian mimics our law, but that doesn't make it illegal to cross - as per the above reasoning.
For cyclist/motorist interaction the zebra lines are irrelevant, but other measures such as traffic lights still apply.

You watch a first person video of a person driving a random route and are expected to click a mouse every time you see a potential hazard coming up in front, if you are too late, too soon, or obviously randomly clicking the mouse, enough times you fail the test and cannot progress to the practical section of your driving exam.
