> been doing this kinda hilly commute route for over a year, basically have kept same time over entire period
> yesterday some dude in a Lycra suit completely roasts me like I'm standing still on a route I've been doing over a year
Why do I even bother

>a year
lol
>Why do I even bother
Probably because it's fun.
>I can't have fun unless I'm "winning"
In my experience only serious losers think like this.

HAHAHAHA WHAT A LOSER
>>1086046
>basically have kept same time over entire period
Answered it yourself bud, no pain, no gain. Push yourself harder and you'll stop being past by Freddies

I live outside of the city where I work.
Finished my exhausting manual labor job and rode the 35 km home on Thursday. Within the first block some hipster with a laptop bag cruised past me as closely and rudely as possible, trying to prove something... I'm sure he felt proud when he rolled to his doorstep 2 minutes later and I still had 33 km left to go.
Never let anything bother you. Just do your thing.

Instead of saying "why do I bother" think to yourself "I want to be as fast as that guy" and use that motivation to get better.
