I'm 6'2" (doctor verified height). In real life people guess I'm 6'4" since everyone lies.
Do these height guides expect you to use doctor verified height or exaggerated meme height?

Should have mentioned the reason I'm wondering is because the midpoint between 5'5" and 6'5" is 5'11"

They expect you to use the height that you actually are. No need for a doctor to do it, a tape measure is good enough.
That said frame sizing is not some strict rule that you absolutely must adhere to. Even though you're 6'2" the 18" frame may be fine for you, you may have longer than average legs (and so need to raise the saddle a bit) but a shorter torso like that of someone shorter than you. You could even have two people with identical leg and torso lengths but could differ in height by an inch due to neck and head length.

Thanks. I would try multiple size bikes out myself but I live in a very small village (no car either) with no major bike shops and am looking at second hand.
