bitch boy confirmed.

Presta, the narrower diameter means a smaller hole in the rim, for stronger wheels. The only advantage of schrader is it's stronger and has a built in spring instead of the little nut, so it's better for klutzes.
>>
Schrader is gross
>>
I really hate the French but it's better for narrower rims

>tire pressure cannot be read by a pressure gauge(sans some special schwalbe one for schwalbe dunlop valves)
>need to remove valve core to get the valve through the rim
>inconsistency among different brands
>Thick base diameter = shit on narrow rims
>more easily vandalized(valve comes straigh off)

Truly an outdated shit valve
No wonder the.dutch still use it.

You summerfags are the reason we all have to solve 9001 captchas every goddamned time.
Go outside, kid, and play with the other kids. Stay off the internets. Get out of our 4chan.

Ferrari uses presta valves?

With the money hes spent on adaptars and new tubes he could have bought a pump and a few presta tubes and end this nightmare

Schradenfreude all the way here.

The Dutch use both kankermongool
>>
>>1084735

You can put slime in one and the other you can't. The others tip can get bent easily and leak air, the other one not so much.

Classic.

100% correct droplul
>>
>>1084741
We have this in Finland too, presta is virtually unknown.

I gues this is another of those Nordic, Low German and Dutch things.
>>
>>1084735
I don't want to sound daft, but why are there shitty valves when 99% of everything in the world already uses perfectly good ones?
>>
>>1085729
>and the other you can't.
Incorrect.
>>
I've had just as much grief from presta as schrader. One thing going for presta is, in the case of a slightly leaky valve at low pressure, the nut can be tightened to stop leak. Schrader just keeps on leaking

Maybe it's already been said but I understand they use presta so the valve hole in the rim doesn't have to be so big/structurally compromising.

It might be me but the Presta valves seem to deflate the tire faster when not using the bike.
>>
>>1086881
presta is usually on smaller tubes. So I would guess you're right that presta tubes become flat faster but it's not because of the tube/valve. i.e. a larger tube leaking at the same rate as smaller tube takes longer to become flat
>>
>>1084735
aesthetically, presta
practically, schrader

you shouldn't be riding tires narrower than 28c anyhow
>>
>>1086897
I ride 23's made of m2 steel

pros: no flats, you are mad, good drifting
cons: none
>>
My experience with schrader has left me unimpresta.
>>
Presta

I ride so fast the the little spring loaded pin in a schrader valves gets pressed in due to centrifucal forces and intantly deflates my tires when I'm up to speed.
>>
>>1086926

Try intalling the valve facing the other way
>>
>>1086892
Well, that would make more sense.
>>
>>1084741

makes hand pump super easy since its a one way valve
also still works after 80 years

>>1084770
>tire pressure cannot be read by a pressure gauge
fare point if you have some psi obsession (you loose 1 psi every time the pressure is checked
>trusting gauges
>implying the tire maker bothered with factor of safety
>not running 10 psi under max spec just to avoid rim pinch/over pressure

>need to remove valve core to get the valve through the rim
??? just remove the rim nut
valve stays in fine

>inconsistency among different brands
how ?

>Thick base diameter = shit on narrow rims
irrelevant
thin rims = thin tires = high psi = presta valve

>more easily vandalized
only legit point so far
not many carry round a schrader valve core removal tool
or know how to disassemble a presta
>>
>>1084770
Dunlop is fine for medium pressure city bikes. I wouldn't use it but it works.
> Pressure gauge
Most people don't have or need one
> remove valve core
Yes, once in how many years?
> inconsistencies
wut?
> thick base diameter
not an issue for city bikes
> vandalization
true
>>
>>1086478

Yeah true I guess. You just have to break off the valve stem to do it.
>>
>>1087118
Incorrect.
