So some old guy sold me a bike and said that the rims on the wheels were compatible with both clinchers and tubulars. The rims are Mavic Module "E", which were apparently some kind of big deal in the 70's. I went ahead and replaced the tires he had on there with some Vittoria Rally tubulars. I'm now doing the research I should probably have done before taking his word for it and gluing tubulars to a rim for the first time in my entire life, but now it would appear he might not have been right about that. The glue job I did still appears pretty solid, but I don't want to die from using these tires, so I'm here to ask this:
Would gluing tubular tires to 27" clincher rims make the wheels unsafe to ride on if you actually managed to do it?

Yes. There is no way you have enough of a glued surface. The round profile of the tyre does not fit in the open box profile of the rim. Rip it off and get to washing that glue off before it's there for good. Tube glue is a bitch to remove.

I feel like an idiot right now... I'll do what you suggest. Thanks.
