Axle is m9, dropout gap is for a m10, is this a super bad idea? This is the first bike I've built up a track bike, got a Mavic Ellispe track wheelset and both wheels came with m9 axles, front fits a dream

the play might cause the wheel to wiggle and pull out of position and rub against the chainstay, considering the torque applied on the drive side in fixed gear drivetrain..
I've never tried to be sure, try it and report back
it will be fine, ive run pegs on a bmx bike using 3/8ths axle in 14mm dropouts

You spent the money on a decent frame, get a proper wheel for it. Jeez.
>>1073511
But I'm not sure how to go about fixing it as mavic doesn't specify any options for axles, but iv seen these wheels on this frame before! Is there a way to get replacement dropout cover set that has a m9 gap?
Fyi it's a Cinelli Vigorelli Caleido 2015

Cool paintjob
>>1073516
I would hope people would have been able to identify it just by the first pic. Pretty unique bike OP
>>1073516
Why do you have break levers you dingus?
>>1073521
It's a fucking Dirty Harry too, a fucking BMX lever.
OP, it doesn't matter, just push down as you tighten the nuts so the axle is touching the top of the dropout.

babys first track bike i guess. Good buy though OP, they ride nicely.
>>1073526
It's not a track bike, it's just a single speed road bike.
>>1073521
its been 3years since iv ridden fixed, thus the lack of bar tape on that side, and its not a frame i want to go flying off too soon
>>1073529
OP said track in his post. I was just agreeing with him you asplord. Here's my room mates Cinelli>>1073536
Goodluck with your project op. Its a fun ride
>>1073526
its the first "New" bike, my other racer is made out of spares & cant be trusted to travel far
>>1073516
Oh my god that is gorgeous, you lucky git
>>1073495
It shouldn't be a problem. Just think, if the pressure from the bolts weren't enough to hold the axle securely horizontal dropout wouldn't be a thing in the first place. If you want you could wrap the part of the axle with electrical tape, just to help with getting it lined up right.
>>1073495
It should be absolutely fine as long as the axle is touching the red bit in pic related
>>1073537
tell him to fix his handlebar angle
>>1073537
I doubt your roommate has ever ridden that bike more than 4 miles, unless his honest goal is to lose his ability to reproduce.
Why the fuck do you have a M9 rear axle?
>>1073917
This is accomplished while simply putting weight on the frame and putting the bike on the ground when tightening the wheels instead of trying to do it in a stand or something.
