how bad do your tan lines get /n/? I get really deep lines ones on my arms but never seem to get any on my legs, almost as bad as the photo
As a pasty irishman I burn easily. Even with 50 - 60 SPF sunscreen I'd tan quite a bit. The glove tan lines were always the most amusing with tan ending at wrist with tanned finger tips.
The hassle of applying sunscreen to my arms and legs would make me decide to just not ride at all some days. So two years ago I decided to wear full finger gloves, sunsleeves and leg sleeves to make getting ready much faster. I also use a buff under my helmet to keep sweat out of my eyes and also keep my ears covered. A bonus of using sleeves instead means no bugs and dirty sticking to the sunscreen.

woah dude, that's pretty dedicated, got any photos of your burn/tan lines?
I'm white Nordic guy but I tan easily. Which causes pretty clear tan lines. And not only do I tan easily the tan lasts forever. I'm just now losing the tan lines from last season and it's almost time for short sleeves again. As a bonus my hair gets noticeably more blonde after being exposed to sunlight. So I get noticeable highlights if I have a helmet with large vents.
Pic related is my tan lines after the first few properly sunny summer rides last summer.

Nope, most of my tanlines have completely faded away now. My only remaining recurring issue is from winter riding. One of my baselayers has a high neck leaving a tanline high on the neck. And wearing an open face balaclava where only an oval spot on my face gets tanned. Wasn't too bad the last two years due to lack of snow eliminating reflected sun.

Pretty much this.
Fingerless-glove tanlines aren't too strong yet because I've only worn them a handful of times this year, but my thighs and arms are already pretty strong.
I normally wear a cycling cap, so my hair doesn't get anything too crazy, but my beard is significantly lighter than the hair on the top of my head.
I wear full leg and arm sleeves even in summer. For some reason it's really hard to find long sleeve jerseys and bibs designed for summer temperatures.
I tan in a tanning bed a couple times a week at the gym. Don't knock it til you try it. Tan lines really don't look good on anybody.

Ok, I guess I won't be knocking it.
Suffice to say, I have no desire to go to a gym for any purpose, let alone baking myself. Any and all exercise is more enjoyable outdoors, rain or shine. The tanlines I get from cycling are a mark of pride.
