I am going mountain biking next week and my friend lent me his Go Pro to make a video. Where is the best place to mount this thing? My helmet? I think I look around too much. Also post biking videos for inspiration (preferably mountain biking).

On your chest?

I think that would be facing down too much. I'll see if I can rig it up.
The problem I have with cameras is that I really don't want to attach anything to my helmet. And mounting the camera anywhere else makes the footage shit.

chest mount needs a gimbal to work properly

You mount the camera upside down so you can tilt it up.
chest view is best view.
not mtb but check this vid, specially at 3:00 when they do the truck

both dudes in the vid have cas on their chest, so you could try to fid a moment where they film each other to see how they do it, no idea if gimball is used, i know nothing bout cameras. but i luv those vids.
another killer chest mounted vid. this dude is brutal, wish i could do stuff like that.

>how does he sit down with balls that big
best line ever

not just that, you risk smashing the camera into the top cap, stem, and bars.
one of the better places is helmet visor, but that's if you're using a smaller camera, otherwise top of the helmet will do.

No such thing. Its super boring looking where the bike is going, you want to look where the rider is looking.
Helmet for sure.

He didn't even go that fast, I could probably beat him desu

im like 95% sure they make chest harnesses for gopros and stuff. also how fast do you think these guys are going? BMX bikes seem slow for commuting but these videos always seem faster than that
Chest mount. No you do not need a gimbal.
