I'm graduating with a degree in logistics soon. Looking for jobs more on the warehousing/DC side than the transportation side currently but I'm keeping an open mind. What do you do as an operations manager?

As an ops manager i oversee 3 supervisors, each if whom have 3 coordinators and about 45 hourly employees. So a crew of 147.
I am at a production site, we handel all the line felivery, line takes, drip lot and trailer moves, loads unloads. Basicly if it has wheels and can move stuff we manage and operate it for this client.
We work closely with a dc . I came from the DC to the "plant".
Our dc, has a staff of 900, is a little over 4million sq feet over 4 buildings.
There an ops manager has about 150 - 200 staff, and reports to the general manager.
Day to day, over see personnel , put out fires, daily meetings about performance, shipping estimates, load dates/times, problem shooting and meeting customer needs.
Montly reviews and budget meetings with clients and corporate.
Yearly budget cycle meetings and future planning.

I love port work, but i see it from a broker perspective. So i just sit in an office wathing the boats go by, as i work with clients.
