Show me a more "JUST" transit system in the developed world.

SEPTA
What does "JUST" even mean in this context
>>1051062
Just fuck my shit up
But this is the most terrible use of that meems I have seen to date.
Eh, it doesn't seem to bad. It has the 8th-highest ridership of all US local tranist authorities while only being located in the 39th-largest city.
Of course that isn't saying much. What is it like to ride on it?
>>1051058
septa actually isnt that bad considering the budget they have
>>1051073
Septa hires the worst pavement apes.subway stations smell like piss. Urban gorillas have mugged me twice at down town bus stops.
>>1051070
It's ok. Only problem is that the rail service is limited.

How about those Cobb County crossburners who didn't want MARTA in their county but have their cars in MARTA park and ride lots?
>>1051095
My local (Springfield, OH) bus service is called SCAT (Springfield City Area Transit), also referred to as "Scooting Coons Across Town"

>SCAT
Did they really think that would be a good idea?

Is SEPTA really that terrible? For burger standards it doesn't seem to be the worst

Atanta is one of the largest metro areas its just so fucking sprawled and made for cagers so the city itself isnt that big.
>>1051095
Don't remind us that Lincoln's plan of sending them back to Africa was the smartest plan ever
>>1051070
Atlanta has incredibly small city-limits, most other cities have FAR larger areas in terms of square miles; for example Jacksonville FL city limits spans their entire county which grossly over-inflates their population.
>city keeps adding "traffic calming" in areas that don't need it
>doesn't improve public transport to make up for this
>wastes money on retarded streetcar
>state won't support city transit because they hate niggers/dems

> Ignoring the recent MARTA expansion and TSPLOST taxes
>>1052644
30 years too late, now expanding rail in any direction will cost a projected $100 million dollars PER MILE, at a minimum
>>1052655
Try $1 billion/mile. $100 million is unbelievably low for subway construction; only Korea and Japan can approach those figures.
>tfw too scared to rid my bike with the cars
>>1052668
>>1052655
elevated rail down the medians of the interstates. so suburb commuters can take the train into downtown and leave their cars at home.
Georgia isn't earthquake prone and they don't need to buy right of way. north georgia ground is either red clay or solid fucking granite(hello Stone Mountain). So tunneling is out of the question.
>>1052655

The Streetcar cost ~$98 Mil. for its 1.3 mile reach. That, though, included a VMF, and new trains, plus all the costs of doing something for the first time. The planned streetcar extensions, and light rail will cost similar amounts, though likely less.
The small amount of heavy rail extension planned (Westside Blue Line) will likely be within $300 Mil. per mile.
The Bus Rapid Transit routes and various other bus improvements will be much cheaper.
>>1052691
Good thing new bike infrastructure is coming online rather regularly.

Wrong, BART is the worst.
Some highlights from 2016:
- two systemwide power failures
- three shootings
- SF stations are no longer ADA compliant, due to feces clogging the escalators and elevators
- homeless population exceeds 300
- trains are so loud that it actually violates OSHA standards (this is due to their lack of canted wheels)
- upholstered seats are physically coming apart
best part is that they need both a dedicated $10 billion bond + $8 road tolls just to keep their shit system running since everything is custom made as they use indian gauge not standard gauge
>>1051335
There is also Fairfield Area Rapid Transit, or FART.
>>1053069
San Francisco needs to fix their homeless problem, while building affordable housing.
They also need bus lanes on every street with a bus.
>>1053488
San Francisco has rent control and a bunch of yuppie fags. there is also the matter of the regulations adding 10 years to any building project.
That is why most of the city is still townhouses like its Full House.
>$2.50 a ride
>doesn't go to where you want to go
>2x slower than car
>>1053069
Today the walnut creek station caught fire because a power box blew up. Nobody knows why, but people stuck on delayed trains began using them as toilets because operators wouldn't let people deboard.

It's impossible to be worse than BART, and still qualify as an active railroad/metro system. This is because BART is sitting on that fenceline every time they suffer an infrastructure malfunction.
>>1053543
2/3rds of SF is zoned for exclusively single family detached housing, and most of the city wants it to remain that way. Same for Oakland and Berkeley. This is how San Jose, which thirty years ago was the local mexican containment zone, could become the 10th largest County in America.
