Kill yourself, candy-ass.

>>Actually admitting to the WORLD that you're on 4chan, ever, for any reason
Most of the people won't associate /n/ with 4chan because they think 4chan is only /b/-/pol/,/v/ and /a/ for the weebs.

Also, what's the problem with posting on a forum about transportation?, it's pretty interesting as you can learn about many stuff. There are the normalfag boards, and the weird ones, and /n/ is really normalfag.
>>
This jerseys are so cringe though. You could have made a nice minimalist design but instead you have to plaster "gotta go fast" and "transportation" with awful colorways to show everyone how autistic you are

Made in my home state too. bleck

i know this sounds bizarre, but could you tell about how this all came about? on some other boards i've seen people try to spin up some larger scale projects, but the anonymity and noise and all that shit seem to make the project fall apart (or everyone just volunteers for the easy bits and the harder shit never gets done). i'd like to hear about a project that was successful.

>Most of the people won't associate /n/ with 4chan because they think 4chan is only /b/-/pol/,/v/ and /a/ for the weebs.
At best they'll see "/n/" and think "huh?". The alternative is that they'll recognize it's a board on 4chan and they'll treat you like they just encountered a /b/tard "in real life". And the disdainful way they keep their distance from you will act as body language telling other people that you're weird or shifty.

I wouldn't wear internet-related clothing in general if I can help it, but gun to my head I would opt for something that was ambiguously reddit-related. I don't use reddit, but I'd rather someone think that there was an 80% chance I browse reddit (and a 20% chance I browse 4chan) than have someone think there's a 90% chance I browse 4chan and a 10% chance I browse reddit.
>>
>>1048762
I'm not him, but I organized some of the later projects and followed all of this since pretty early on, so I can kind of fill you in.

I first came across the jersey threads right at the end of the Gen 1 order period. I had no involvement in the Gen 1 project other than ordering a jersey.

Basically, how it started is someone posted a thread saying we should have /n/ jerseys. A few people posted designs. Without having much discussion or voting or anything, pretty early on, someone chose what would end up being the Gen 1 design. They went to a manufacturer (Voler) and had that manufacturer set up a webstore. The link was then posted on /n/ so anons could order the jerseys.

Of course a lot of people missed out and still wanted a jersey. The people behind Gen 1 (creator of the design and the person who set up the webstore with Voler) didn't release the vector objects so an exact re-creation couldn't be done, and people wanted something different. So Gen 2 was born. Someone decided to lead that project but didn't choose the design. Instead, anons came up with maybe 30 or so designs and posted them in the threads. We then voted and the winning design, Nomads, was put into production. The same concept applied, the project leader set up a webstore with a manufacturer, anons could then order jerseys through the manufacturer.

Some people also wanted the Yotsuba and Bepsi designs, so someone (maybe the same as the person who did Gen 2) set up a webstore with Podiumwear for those two designs.
>>
>>1048779
cont.

Some people, including myself, preferred Gen 1 over the other designs, but saw room for improvement. We wanted it to say 'boats' instead of 'buses'. We wanted our board color, blue, to be included. We wanted the rear sprocket logo to be placed higher (either Voler or the anon who led that order fucked up and put the logo way too low on some styles/sizes). We wanted international shipping available (since non-US anons couldn't order Gen 1 jerseys directly from Voler). This would come to be called Gen 1.1.
We came up with some similar designs fitting these criteria, and once we had one decided upon, I went to Podiumwear's real-life office and talked to them in person and toured their facility. Satisfied with the company and the quality of their jerseys, I gave them our mockup and vector objects, and they opened a webstore for us.

With that order a success, and some demand for Yotsuba jerseys (some wanting a re-release of the older Yotsuba jerseys, others wanting a full-color Yotsuba jersey release), I decided to organize an order for Yotsuba jerseys as well. I got back in touch with Podiumwear, and again provided a mockup and vectors. It went pretty much the same as Gen 1.1, but faster and easier because I had worked with Podiumwear before.

And that's where we are right now. I believe Gen 1.1 and Yotsuba jerseys are still available, but as always, not everyone is satisfied with these designs. Some people still want re-releases of older jerseys, or want something new entirely, so I assume we'll see more orders in the future.

Designer here. This guy has it right.

The original gen one design I did was scaled back, and didn't have any of the bullshit like "get rekt" on it. I personally didn't want "gotta go fast" on there, but people really wanted it.

They also went back and forth a million times on if it was going to be long or short sleeve, and there was a bunch of kerfuffle with international shipping. I didn't deal with any of that, I just did the design.

I touched up the logo a bit as the previous one wasn't ready for prime time.

I've got the .ai files somewhere on a hard drive, I can see if I can find them if y'all want.

I also did the monster face looking one and the minimal black and white /n/ one.

I never wound up getting one myself and kind of regret it now.

Turns out the Yotsuba and Gen 1.1 jerseys no longer have recurring storefronts. However, if enough people still want them, I can ask Podiumwear to re-open the stores. Maybe in like May when /n/ is busier and people are hyped for 'cycling season' (yes I know all year is cycling season).
As much as I love winter I'm already excited for June.
>>
>>1050538
On this sheet >>1047774 they were the bottom row, third from the right and 1st from the right. I'd like to think I've progressed as a designer since then and would be able to do a much better job if I had another crack at it. I was in college at the time.

>>1050571
Yeah, I am kind of bummed it turned into a design by committee type thing.

Likewise, if my gen1 jersey didn't have 'Get Rekt' on the back and 'Fast' on the shoulders it would be my absolute favorite jersey. As it is I still like it but feel self-conscious wearing it sometimes. On the positive side the almost-aggressive messaging makes me ride harder because I feel compelled to live up to it and actually be a fast rider...

I would like to strongly suggest that whenever it's time for V3 we go with Voler again, the jerseys they make are very nice. I don't recall who made the later stuff but I'm inclined not to want to work with them again because the Nomads cap is ridiculously huge with insufficient elastic (even after some DIY fixing with needle and thread) and the 1.1 cap is freakishly tiny.
>>
>>1050663
I really want Yotsuba and Bepsi jerseys.
>>
>>1051041
Which Yotsuba one do you prefer? I can most likely get storefronts re-opened this May if there's enough demand for Gen 1.1 and this Yotsuba >>1047504
Maybe maybe not on the other Yotsuba.
>>1051019
Voler doesn't offer international shipping so they're out. Podiumwear is the company that did Gen 1.1, both Yotsubas, and Bepsi. Re-releases of Gen 1.1 and Yotsuba would be with Podiumwear again, Gen 3 would be up to whoever is leading the project I guess. I am very happy with my Podiumwear jerseys though. What size 1.1 cap did you get? The L/XL should be plenty big for most people.
>>
>>1051019
Oh and just wear Yotsuba, that one doesn't have fast or get rekt, it just has moonrunes
>>
>>1050571

Bruh ever generation has had its shill.

We had the:
"Gotta go fast" shills
"Get Rekt" shills
"The phrase should end in Trains, not Plane" shills
"Only Blue, Not Black" shills
"Nomads" shills
"Podium" shills

Seriously, fuck /n/ when it comes to these projects. Democracy doesn't work here. The next gen needs to be like gen 3 where someone makes a design (bepsi), minimal to no feedback is allowed, and people just buy the product as is. It becomes a complete clustercuss when you leave you have to vote on everything little thing (color, positioning, phrases, design etc).
>>
>>1051308
I'd also like that Yotsuba >>1047504
>>
>>1051308
That Yotsuba is shit and needs to die. I obviously want the original Yotsuba design.

We can probably get another production run in by Summertime senpai. There would definitely be interest sometime in Spring.

If you're really the creator of that design, props. The instant design posted -> hype -> printed and sold process that happened with that shit was amazing, ran circles around the endless voting and hideous failure of every other /n/ jersey done or attempted.
>>
>>1048838
Please to be spearheding a reprint run.
>>

>Voler doesn't offer international shipping
That's a minor problem, and one easily solved in the age of the internet. There are parcel forwarding services that can provide a US mailing address and forward packages to other countries for a fee, and if someone really wanted to avoid paying for such service, I'm certain that I'm not the only anon who would be willing to forward packages to tra/n/sporters overseas.
>>
>>1051416

That has been brought to before. It happened a handful times in the previous generations but not a lot of people were on board. Sketchy af and such a hassle.
